To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

PolandI am not used to the high, Brazilian summer temperatures so for me the cooling system/ ventilation in the room was really insufficient and I was missing the proper air conditioning system. But this comment comes from a person who feels most comfortable with 18-22 degrees, so I assume it won't be problem for many people.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff both at the reception and in other facilities - easy to communicate even despite my lack of knowledge of the Portuguese - as they are willing to communicate via google translate with ease :) Very nice breakfast and great view onto the hills and ocean in the distance. Literally 5 min walk to the port with all its bars and points of departure for diving etc. Good isolation between the rooms. I had booked room in two separate bookings for 2 + 1 day and despite technical issues around it the staff was so kind to go out of their way to avoid me having to check out after a night to check in again into other room, and instead managed to change things so that I stayed in the same room. Pousada is also well located when it comes to getting to the centre and bus station - just next to it there is a bus stop from where one can catch minibuses and buses.

United States of AmericaI wish they had a desk or a long table under the TV where we could place our luggage and things. There's very little storage room, but we asked for a couple of extra chairs and put our luggage on them. Also, we went there in September, so the pool water was really cold. If they could heat the pool water during the off-season, we'd be able to enjoy the pool, too! Totally not a deal breaker, though. 👍👍👍
Walk a couple of blocks and you're on Praia dos Ossos where you can walk along Orla Bardot and take your pick among many amazing restaurants. Walking distance to Rua das Pedras, too! The Pousada was PERFECT! 💯💯💯

United KingdomThe price changed when we confirmed the booking. This is probably more of an issue with booking.com than the hotel but we showed them screenshots and they said they couldn’t help. We asked for the manager to contact us as we needed to leave but we didn’t hear anything. We also wasn’t satisfied with our stay. It was massively overpriced for what you got. We had small bug/ants all over the room and bathroom they went into our bags. The pool bar in the evening was supposed to be open but there was no staff there and when we asked at reception they didn’t respond. Disappointing as we only had one night there, but we just headed out into Buzios which is an amazing place :)

GermanyThe room is very basic like a cell with a bed and only one cold main light. Totally different from what we expected from the photos. So we were disappointed but decides to stay as we arrived late and did not want to waste time on searching another hotel. Nothing to feel comfy or that carries the vacation mood or spirit of Buzios. Room is dark and can't open windows as it everybody can look inside.
The location is not far from the ocean walk in a quite area. Clean and cheap. Nice pool area.
