Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWish the fireplace in our room was in working order, but it's the end of summer, so understood why it wasn't.
Explorer House was absolutely lovely. We stayed in the Serengeti room and the room was beautiful. The breakfast was incredible- a 3 course meal! The B&B was within a 15/20 min walk to Queen street and the walk was lovely! Very much enjoyed our overnight stay at Explorer House!

CanadaHot tub! I was going to suggest that the TV in our room should be mounted on the wall. It wasn’t comfortable to watch the way it was set up currently.
It feels like home but also feels like we were far away!! Love the backyard

CanadaThis was my first time staying at a bed & breakfast. The Explorer House exceeded my expectations. The hosts were helpful and easy to reach if needed. The backyard was an Oasis. The room we stayed in came with all amenities; such as a blow dryer, which was helpful because I forgot mine. The room was clean, and the bed was perfect for two people. My favorite part were the decorations and pictures from her travels. It added a uniqueness to the room and house. This house is close to many wineries, restaurants, and a nice trail. You could even rent bikes if you wanted to explore the town. What I also enjoyed about staying at a Bed & Breakfast was eating breakfast together with the other guests. Niagara falls is a 25 minute drive and the outlet mall was 10 minutes away. :)

CanadaPerhaps it is that everything has become more expensive over the last couple of years but we did think the rates were beyond what even first class accommodations would charge. The only minor criticism about the BnB itself is the size of the shower. Compact at best.
Everything was exceptional, as good as any bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at. Clearly a great deal of thought went into the design and operation of this B and B.

CanadaNo complaints. Liked everything! There are however so many things in the room and I got a sunburn and only when I was checking out discovered that there a lotion in the drawer. It is however my fault as I didn't search the bathroom properly and didn't ask the host.
Really liked the place. Great location, comfortable bed, stable wifi, great breakfast, adorable garden with lots of lush trees and bushes. And amazing hosts! Really enjoyed it and would recommend the place to everyone visiting the place

United KingdomHaving to leave 😕
. Extra large bedroom and bathroom , decent sized private balcony. Also had the use of shared living room and shared coffee machine with fridge and free snacks, free cold drinks. We also used the shared balcony upstairs overlooking the car park. This property also has separate garden area with hot tub ,seating area and fire pit. Solely for guests to use . Homemade jam and marmalade at breakfast 😋 👌 Overall, Explorer House was a superb find. My wife also bought a cook book written by the host Deanna. Will certainly be back next time we are in Canada.

United States of AmericaDeanna and Alec are wonderful, welcoming hosts and truly interesting people. They are expert B&B operators who have seemingly thought of everything. They wrote the book, literally (you can buy Deanna’s recipe book adorned with her beautiful photographs from their many adventures to almost every continent that decorate every room). They have provided every convenience you could want or need for a romantic get-away, including a secret garden with hot tub, fire pit table and gazebo. My wife and I stayed for four nights to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary and could not have been more pleased with our stay. We were treated to delicious gourmet breakfasts, served daily in the location of our choosing, lovingly prepared with great attention to detail. The home is stunning and immaculate. It is perfectly located on a quiet cul-de-sac, close by to many restaurants, bike rental shops and wineries. Our room, the Cloud Forest Suite was spacious and comfortable, and all rooms have balconies. We enjoyed taking walks and riding rented bikes to and from Queen Street through the beautiful neighborhoods. We also rode bikes along the Niagara River and along the streets and parks facing Lake Ontario and the mouth of the Niagara River. We attended a play one evening at the Shaw Festival Theatre, had wonderful dinners around town, and visited a number of local wineries.
