The bed was actually 2 beds put together, as it seems common in Germany / Switzerland. No AC in the room, we had to open the windows multiple times.

The view was super nice. The room was spacious. The bathroom was excellent.

no omelette station for breakfast was disappointing, pretty understaffed for a 3 star hotel, we had to go to the reception for anything from spoon to hot water . it felt like a self service hostel with good amenities .

The heating in the room was far too hot. We did ask for it to be turned down (we couldn't find a switch in the room) and this was done when we asked, but sometimes it was easier just to open the windows.

Our room was spacious and large enough for the 9 nights we had in Luzern to spread out a bit and not get under each others' feet. The bathroom has all the essentials. There was a little area to the side with a sofa bed/couch - perfect for relaxing after a day out and about. There isn't a closed cupboard but there is enough shelving available. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was superb with a great choice of hot and cold dishes. I can imagine it being awesome to sit in the outdoor area in the warmer months. Free parking and a free travel card to catch the bus into Luzern (about a 10 minute ride), which stops directly outside the hotel. The photos do not do the room justice - it is far more cosy and less spartan than what is depicted. We loved our stay and will definitely book here the next time we are in Luzern.

Quite unpleasant to have all the kitchen smells in the room if the balcony door is open. Somehow ventilation of kitchen just exhaustes next time the room (we had the top floor).

Excellent breakfast buffet style with attentive service. Recommend dinner in the restaurant. Interesting menu and very high quality meals with artistic flair. We enjoyed a spacious, airy room; bigger than anticipated. The hotel is a short bus ride out of town or an hours scenic walk. It was very handy to have a tourist card from the hotel to use the network. Would definitely stay again.

no elevator. location quite far from the train station but near the bus station (exactly behind the bus station), so I think still ok. not a big problem for us.

room is clean and nice. comfy for sleep. can do late check in, they provide you enough info before you came. the view from the balcony is very beautiful, you can see the mountain and lake, love it! the staff is kind, they will help you. the breakfast is delicious, though everyday is the same menu, but we really like it, never get bored of the breakfast. Definitely will come again later!

Bed was comfy, but having two single mattresses made it a bit uncomfortable. Also may be worth installing extractor fans in bathrooms as they got really steamy after a shower.

Great views, really nice rooms and breakfast was one of the highlights!

We stayed at Hotel Balm for 4 nights with our two kids. We loved the breakfast and walking area around the hotel with the small zoo. The bus stop is literally in front of the reception, and we could use the transportation for free. Great place to stay when visiting Luzerne.

This place was wonderful, the view, the food, the service... by the way, you can take the public transport to Lucerne, which is only 20 minutes away, for free! I walked there. There are many attractions nearby (mountains, castles)

Just next to Lake Lucerne, perfect location. Loved the Receptionist. Quite helpful and helped us plan all our activities. Hope to see her again next time I visit

Perfect location just outside of the main touristy area but still very easy to get to that part of town by bus. Amazing breakfast. Room was spacious, comfortable, and had an incredible view.
