It’s perfect for a solo traveller like me.

I love Balmers Hostel so much I don’t want to leave! They have scheduled things to do in order to socialize with other travelers which is so fun. The rooms are great, the whole thing is like a cozy Swiss chalet, a lot of things to do inside, and nearby the main train station going to different cities. We met the owner casually, Mr. Balmers while talking at the table and gave us Prosecco.

The Balmer wrist band issued is not easily adjustable, rendering it difficult to remove at times. As the season is reaching chilling temperature, the room heater is unable to cope with keeping the room warm, but we felt fuzzy though :)

The hostel with their bright decor definitely stood out from the streets. We are also lucky to have been able to stay in a room with a mini balcony that looks out to it. Just next door to the hostel was an excellent halal pizzaria that welcomes supper goer. The staffs are understanding and accommodating, helping me with safekeeping my luggage that was delivered from airport due to delayed flights. We had a good match of Foosball with the friendly staff over there! Of course, it was after their working shift! :P Great vibes all around~

The attic room is congested and its hot inside without a fan

Hostel situates at great location. The train station and bus stations are walkable from the place. The cafeteria, toilets and the common areas are neat and clean.

staff were very helpful with planning our four days and very nice. the hostel is very big with lots of entertainment and spaces to chill. there's a jacuzzi, chess, a bar, a mini club, lots of chairs and couches and a dining room where everyone eats. the kitchen is great, there are like four stovetop ovens with a microwave and bench. lots of utensils to share, and like four big fridges. very handy to cook when it's so expensive in switzerland to eat out. bus is free in interlaken area for people staying here and the stop is near.

The night time receptionist staff wasn't the easiest to deal with but the one in the morning was a bit easier to communicate with

The huge kitchen was great! Bathrooms were clean and had nice hot showers. Bed was super comfortable.

The bathrooms were tiny. I had to be careful not to hit my head against the sloping ceiling in the private rooms. ( got bumped a few times). No scissor in the kitchen. Some guests were eating out of the cooking pots , and no one to advise them. Out of the four standing stoves, two of them extremely slow to heat up. Enormous Waste of time if only those were open. The fridges were leaking water and not enough for when the hostels are at full capacity.

Location was great, good bus services to Interlaken Ost. The kitchen was spacious and was clean, with enough pots, pans and cutlery to go around. The common spaces were inviting and vibrant.

The organisation of rooms is a bit chaotic.

Perfect hostel for backpackers. Cosy building, a lot solo travelers, free activities, very big kitchen, etc.

The house is quite old and not suitable for anyone with too much luggage. Wifi is sometimes weak and i can barely use it.

Quite near by bus stop. They have kitchen and quite large common space. Frienfly staff, he gave me a free bus ticket during stay. Room quite small but it's okay for me.

the room itself was a bit small with the lockers under the beds. you couldn’t fully open 2 across from each other and also couldn’t stand anywhere atm. showers felt a bit small sometimes.

Solo female traveler ! For the 1st time I socialized with the people here, very cozy atmosphere, super friendly & helpfull staff, amazing cleaning crew, the kitchen is super huge & it was sparkling clean all the time despite so many residents. I loved every second of it. Bathroom/showers so many & super clean. Thanks for such a memorable stay! I will be back & bring my friends ;) The pictures don't show how perfect this hostel is.

I've been to about 100 hostels in my life, and that one is definitely in the top three of all time. It provides everything that an individual traveler would expect. Positive energy, an international community, and plenty of things to do. No worries, they will not let you get bored there. 🙂
