The hotel is in a terrific location for walking to Old Town or doing day trips via train. Breakfast was very good and the staff very accommodating.

We liked everything apart from prices of food and drinks but that applies to everywhere we went in Switzerland 🇨🇭

The wooden floor may make some sound when you walk.

The room was very nice, the bathroom was clean, the facilities available in the room exceeded expectations. Excellent location, tram station is right in front of the hotel, with Basel SBB station just 100m away. My room was facing the main road, however the double-glass door and its noise isolation window/mechanism is well designed so that i heard nothing from the road side. In Basel I was given a card that can travel freely on their local public transport systems, which is very convenient. Just hop on any tram/train, take a sit and enjoy the rides.

Room was small. The bed quilts that were inside the clean duvet covers had small old blood stains.

The room had some noises, air conditioner or mechanical room must have been close, so we heard it all night. Made for sleepless night.

Proximity to train station, old town area. A lot within walking distance. Prosperity had luggage storage, coffee in the room, nice bar and food options.

Nothing really. Although it is located beside a tram station, noise was minimal because of the double glazed windows.

Location was excellent. A hop, skip and jump to the SBBF train station. Tram stop right outside. Staff were really helpful-gave us instructions on which trams to catch. Breakfast was excellent.

Historic hotel across from main train station, excellent location. Friendly helpful staff, provide the Baselcard for free travel on the trams, No.11/8 from outside front door straight to main area in 10mins.

Lovely large rooms...we booked a luxury double and got a small suite. Bed was SO comfortable and the duvet was excellent.

The shower of one of the rooms only has a transparent door which is a bit inconvenient for us.

Breakfast was not great. Coffee and bacon was very good but scrambled eggs tasted sour! Like they had been made with either sour milk or bad eggs! We left ours and a lady walked by and said “yes the eggs are strange, no?” Then the couple at the next table said “the eggs are bad, aren’t they?”. We do not want to worry about food poisoning on the first day of our holiday! They did eventually make new scrambled eggs but we didn’t trust them. The bread rolls were pathetically small and cheap - not crusty, not fresh. Probably frozen and heated up. Croissants also tiny, stale, cheap. 1 person working in the breakfast area and she didn’t speak good German. We loved this hotel except for the breakfast!

Great location, quiet room at the back (316) firm mattress was very comfortable. Bathroom was wonderful with instant hot water and great shower pressure.
