Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. United KingdomThe location is a real plus for this hotel, but it’s still a hassle to get here from the high speed railway station. Staying around Yangshuo would be much more hassle of course given the distance and the traffic, but adjust your expectations if you arrive during the day. This is definitely a place for quieter evenings rather than one from which you can explore a town’s restaurants etc. Best to stay on site and eat! But don’t miss Liu Sanjie! It’s pricey for China, but is a reflection of this area and the high season.
This is a lovely quiet hotel set on a spur off the Li river, away from the crowds of Xingping (let alone the gridlocked streets of Yangshuo). It’s surrounded by the river, the peaks, and fruit farms The interior has beautiful rooms, some eye catching Chinese modern art, and a spectacular array of geological displays The roof terrace is spectacular and is a good setting for drinks, as well as the lovely restaurant The food was great - for both breakfast and dinner There’s an outdoor pool for cooling off You can borrow their bikes and cycle round the farms along the river Most memorable though was the very proactive and flexible help that the owner Joan and her staff gave us in getting around and seeing lovely things: hill climbing, tea plantation and the Liu Sanjie show in town. Special thanks to Nicole, Joan’s Worldpackers volunteer, who helped us so much. Everyone really wanted us to max our trip! We need to come back! And do more hiking, calligraphy and watercolours!

United StatesOn the other side of the river from Xingping requiring a ferry ride and electric cart transfer made leisure wandering into town not a possibility.
Gorgeous scenery from the room and rooftop with kind and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms with modern technology. Amazing Chinese breakfast and free transfer to the train station in Yangshuo and the pier to catch the ferry to Ancient city of Xingping.

Germany-
We were lucky enough to spend a few days at this small, family-run hotel right by the river – and it was simply perfect! The rooms are spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The food was an absolute highlight: authentic, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the hostess and her team – so warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Whether we needed advice on day trips, help organizing transportation, or just had little requests, we were met with incredible support. The location right on the river is stunning and offers endless opportunities for outdoor activities in the breathtaking karst mountains around Yangshuo. We’ve stayed at many excellent hotels across China, but this one stands out by far. If you’re looking for a special, personal, and truly memorable place to stay, this is it. Highly recommended – we will definitely be back!

United KingdomThe breakfast is not much of the choice
Clean, comfortable and in the very beautiful place which is¹ approximately 30-40min.from Yangshuo and 1.5 hours from Guilin. Taxi is not that expensive. If you coming here for the nature that is your spot. Tranquility and the beauty of the nature are out of this world, birds singing whole day long and the staff will do everything to make you feel comfortable. Hiking and plenty of activities are available. The girl at the reception is very nice and helpful.

ChinaJust be aware that there's quite a lot of construction in the village nearby (though you can't hear it) and you'll need to walk along the road sometimes but it's fine! Was a little pricey for what it was.
Great location, very helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. Great views, especially from the roof top. Nice places to walk around from the hotel.

CanadaI didn't like that I had to leave...
ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING! I would give it 11/10 if I could! We enjoyed our stay so much we barely left the resort, you're already staying at one of the key scenery spots anyway. The staff were all so nice and helpful. Don't be put off by the river crossing etc. The location is actually excellent because it's close to the train station AND the key "picture spots". Anywhere is pretty near Yangshuo but people usually come to Xingping from Yangshuo anyway, however Xingping is much quieter so it's both pretty and relaxing!

United StatesAbsolutely amazing! Beautiful rooms, views, rooftop (indoor/outdoor dining), exceptionally thoughtful, kind, and attentive staff, wonderful chef who puts a lot of care into his meals, friendly drivers, and again, the gorgeous views! It’s very easy to get from old town xinping (cross the River, takes two minutes)- they will pick you up from the Yangshuo train station and help you cross the river.

SpainI can't say anything. We miss this place.
A very modern hotel with an interior design reminiscent of traditional Chinese architecture, but with all the possible comforts. The garden terrace surrounded by mountains makes you feel in nature, while you eat the fantastic breakfast they prepare. It's like a dream. The staff were simply lovely, they helped us with everything. The area was also incredible, very close to the mountains we wanted to go to. And especially next to the Daimon mountain, which, without being the most famous, was our favorite, for its views and because of the few people who go there. We will return one day!!!

AustraliaThis place is an absolute gem. Beautiful hotel and rooms located in picturesque (well that's an understatement) XingPing which is much smaller and much nicer than Yangshuo. The hotel is reasonably isolated in a quiet spot across the river from XingPing village with amazing views. The staff will pick up and drop off whenever you need with their golf carts (5 minute trip) to the ferry to XingPing which crosses all day, ferry is only 5 yuan each. If you are later at night they will arrange the ferry for you. They can book things you need, for example the Impression Liu Sanjio show and you can get to Yangshuo from XingPing village with Didi rides of about half an hour (50-60 yuan). Being in XingPing isn't as convenient as Yangshuo in terms of day-trips etc in the Guilin area as most leave from there or Guilin city, but it is a fabulous spot whereas Yangshuo is big and busy and not that pretty. The hosts were delightful and extremely attentive, they can take you on walking tours or recommend things to do. We walked up Damion mountain which was great, but you need reasonable fitness for this it's very steep but amazing views of the region. Also take a bamboo raft which they will organise for you, find a group of four if you can so cheaper. Owner Joan (I may have the name wrong) was lovely and converses a bit in English, and is genuinely interested in her guests and making their time in XingPing special. Other staff were also friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fabulous and located on the top floor with beautiful views of the countryside, a magical setting for a small hotel. Joan made us a filter coffee each morning. They also offer lunch and dinner food which is very nice as well or you can head over to the old town in XingPing for lots of options. Note though that XingPing is not a late night town, it's very quiet after 9 or 10 pm.

GermanyThe food options in the evening were a little bit limited and the quality had some room for improvement - especially when there are not many other restaurant options nearby (XingPing town is on the other side of the river).
Beautiful location close to Xing Ping surrounded by mountains. Very helpful and kind staff who helped us with local walking routes, recommendations and shuttle rides to the ferry. Clean and comfortable room. Decent breakfast selection and delicious rice noodles on demand!

AustriaIt was a pitty that the pool and the hot tube were not ready to be used.
Very good chinese style breakfast. The staff was very kind and helped us with every question we had throughout our stay. The hotel own e-shuttel was always available to take us to the ferry point. We also had dinner at the hotel, which was delicious. Communication with the staff was done via WeChat, because of the inbuilt translation function. It worked really well. The room was huge and the bed very comfy. There was also a comfy sofa with tea pottery and black tea to do your own tea ceremony. The TV came with a chinese on-demand app. There were lot of English movies (a good mix of Netflix, Prime and Disney+) available, that was great. We only had to translate the menu on our own, but that was not a big issue. We could easily hike up to the sightseeing platform at Xiangong Hill, took us only 1h to get there, easy hike. To reach the city it is necessary to cross the river with a ferry, which runs every few minutes during daytime. Costs 5 yuan per person per direction. We arrived at Guilin by plane, the hotel organised us a fixed rate pick up and it worked very smooth! The highspeed trainstation is roughly 30 min away, to get there from the hotel, we had to take the e-shuttle, then the ferry and then a taxi. Everything was prearranged by the hotel and we were also helped with our luggage till we were at the taxi! Perfect support, no need to worry about missing the train.

Hong KongNothing to fault really, but just to note that having no door to the bathroom is one of those modern flow design ideas that just doesn’t work for us. Food was great if you like very local Chinese food but there wasn’t a huge selection, although it was easy enough to eat at the Rosewood Cafe in Xingping old town. Note also that it takes about 15 mins to get to the pier and you have to take a ¥5 boat ride (5mins) across the river to get to the peninsula that the property is on. The hotel picks up at the other side and it’s another 5 mins drive.
An oasis set in the most picturesque peninsula - beyond expectations and of high quality build and design. The owner Mrs Zhou was the architect and designer. She also is an avid geologist and will take you on a knowledgeable hike. She and the staff did their utmost to ensure our comfort and took great care of us. You can feel that they worry about all the details, and anything they don’t get right, they will do their best to fix.

GermanyNothing, everything was great! However, there is no continental breakfast, you better like Chinese food.
A marvellous spot with a great view! The room was super comfortable and spotlessly clean. The rooftop terrace offers splendid views of the mountains. The hotel offers free transfer with the electric car to the ferry to Xingpning. And Jong, the owner, gave a tour of the hotel, because there are some amazing pieces of art hidden there. Furthermore the hotel offers a lot of activities from trecking and rafting to fishing. Do not miss this spot!

SingaporeA little far from Yangshuo. Takes an hour to travel between Yangshuo for Liu San Jie show to hotel, a bit dangerous to drive on hilly roads in the dark with hardly any street lamps ( luckily we had a very good driver).
Beautiful hotel surrounded by beautiful mountain and river scenery (located at most scenic stretch of Li River). Rooms with Classical Chinese architecture and modern high tech facilities (love the high end Japanese style toilets). Sincere and personal service, all the staff and even the boss are special efforts to chat with guests personally. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner on the few days we stayed at the hotel. Delicious Chinese food with fresh produce from local farms. Staff woke up earlier to prepare breakfast buffet for us on the last morning. Enjoyed my stay immensely and hope to visit again. Best hotel during my China trip!
