Great location, solid breakfast, good refuge in the heart of Santa Marta. A decent, no frills option.

Our first night was on a Saturday and there was very loud music until late in the night, which wasn’t great. However, the other nights were all quiet! We only had cold water in the shower, which I believe is pretty standard in Santa Marta.

The hotel is centrally located in Santa Marta, making it a great base for exploring the region and the city itself. There’s lots of lovely restaurants and cafes on the doorstep, and it’s also just a quick walk to the nearest supermarket and to the beach. The staff were super friendly and made an effort to speak English with us. Breakfast is simple, but substantial and good. Same goes for the room: pretty basic, but clean and comfortable.

The rooftop bar made a lot of noise, too loud. The staff early in the morning would talk loudly and could be heard from upstairs.

Warm showers would be a great addition. Also, our final night, our sleep was very disturbed by loud music coming from the rooftop, which was a bad ending to a good stay

Perfect location near the coast and literally steps away from the best street for restaurants and nightlife. Despite this, a mostly quiet and peaceful nights sleep. Breakfast was good and the rooftop pool was a nice addition

Bring mosquito spray if mosquitoes love you. They get to you quite quickly on the ground floor.

Cool colonial house vibe, near the beach, delicious food. Loved the common rooftop area with the pool/jacuzzi and the hammocks. The staff were incredibly helpful and went way beyond the expected, including when I had to deal with a medical emergency and completely change around my lodging plan.

The AC is rubbish, window view was of a wall 30cm away, no privacy in the bathroom and you can hear pounding music from La Brisa bar until 4am (this could be a good thing if you want to party, not if you want to sleep). Also, the 'double bed' was 2 singles pushed together.

We had to upgrade our room because it was not comfortable. The one on the top floor was much better for a family. However, it wasn't clean. There was a layer of dust and rubbish under the beds. And the treadmill was a sore. As lovely as the hotel was, the area around was unpleasant: dirty, shit and piss around, dogs walking around, ugly homeless people passing by.

The hotel is set in a lovely old colonial house. The rooms are quite big. The beds are comfortable, the linen and towels are white and clean. Breakfast was simple, but tasty (eggs, toasts, tea/coffee/chocolate, fruit and juice). It was also possible to have lunch at the hotel, which we did twice. Really nice homemade food for a good price. The rooftop had a lovely terrace with rocking chairs, hammocks and a small pool.

The first time we stayed there it was a weekend and it was so noisy outside with music blaring until really late, obviously this isn’t the hostels fault but the walls are pretty thin and you’ll need ear plugs! The showers are cold The reception was supposed to be open 24 hours but when we checked out at 6am there was no one at reception & the front doors were locked. we were worried we would miss our flight. We kept phoning the number at reception but it didn’t work and eventually we managed to put our arm through the front gate to get to the doorbell outside and that worked to wake someone up

Great location Lovely friendly staff Delicious breakfast They kept our bags for us for no charge while we travelled along the coast, which was very nice!
