Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe hill to get up to the restaurant and main office was challenging, but they do provide golf cart transportation, so really not an issue. There was a pipe in our room where the refridgerater used to be that was leaking and that was bothersome. And the monkeys, while cute, are really more bothersome than anything.
The room was nice The restaurant was great, and the staff was really nice. The views from the restaurant were amazing! We would stay there again.

CanadaVery steep terrain. Even though the beach is private, there wasn’t much to do and can’t view the sunset. The walk up from the beach could be tedious.

United KingdomWe had one small issue with one of our restaurant orders. After waiting for close to an hour for our meal, I checked back only to find that the order hadn't been entered into the system. The staff were very apologetic, but it was a frustrating situation.
We picked this hotel because of the (relatively easy) walk to the beach, and that worked out perfectly. The pool was also great for our kids, and it was awesome to be able to order food from the restaurant to eat poolside. Our room was amazing ... two huge king beds with a jungle view, and great AC! Breakfast was a buffet with lots of options ... not the best we had in Costa Rica, but pretty good and very convenient.

United States of AmericaWe were in a standard room that had worn furniture and it was a bit of a bummer to start the day with a steep climb to get to breakfast. Also, we found it hard to access restaurants in town - not an easy walk and few ubers meant you had to have hotel arrange for taxi (always $10 regardless of distance)
We loved that we could walk to the beach (albeit a steep climb back). The pool and restaurant were also nice - delicious food, friendly staff. Great view at sunset. Saw two red parrots on the way to breakfast. We also like that they had games to loan out (great for families!)

United States of AmericaThe breakfast was good but a bit chaotic during the morning spring break rush. The hotel should hire more staff for these busy times. The staff that they had appeared to be working extra hard.
Magical location. Wildlife all around and gorgeous trail to the beach.

CanadaThe pillows were hard and not very comfortable, the curtains were hard to close (missing stick), tap was dated and hard to adjust. We had to ask for towels as they were missing on two days (though reception responded quickly when notified).
Shower was nice and big and worked well. Bed was comfortable. Had beautiful view.

United KingdomWe got room 227, family room with private pool. We paid the extra to have the pool to enjoy with the kids. The pool is very small but with babies or younger kids should be fine. The real issue is that the pool and the room are separated by a corridor where other guests can pass through; the view of the only 2 small room windows is on this corridor, so we couldn’t open the curtains for privacy, and the room was dark with no view. It kind of spoiled our stay and would rate the room itself 4 and no value for money BUT if you get a room with balcony and view (and most of them have a great view) OR if you don’t care about light and view, this hotel is great.
The staff is very attentive and helpful, makes you feel welcome, the 2 pools are not big in size but very nice with nice surroundings and don’t feel crowded at all, the restaurant is quite good, the view from the pools and the restaurant is great. We loved the path to the nice beach, it’s surrounded by nature and monkeys and the beach is very lovely (we couldn’t do any snorkelling though). We would definitely recommend this hotel in Manuel Antonio.

United States of AmericaIt was hard to get to, prices during Semana Santa were high, parking was very difficult and contributed to us not wanting to go out for many meals and instead eat there again.
Staff was exceptional, pool and bar were great--especially during the extended happy hour, breakfast was very good, room was nice. Macaws and monkeys were fun to see. 2 adults, 2 kids.

PortugalAmazing property. The beach is much closer and nicer than expected, and that was an amazing surprise - should be better announced - there is in fact a little hill, but that in itself is an experience of forest and wildlife, in a positive note - it’s beautiful! The food was good as well and staff was very good - a shout out to Alexander in the restaurant, he was very good with us 🙂

United States of AmericaMy only disappointment was that the Biesanz beach that is walkable from the hotel was small and crowded. We had to cross some murky water to get to the beach area from the hotel path.
We booked here last minute when our Airbnb didn't work out. The staff was so helpful in getting us a gorgeous room for the two nights. We loved the adult pool area, the breakfasts and the cleanliness. A toucan landed on our balcony as well as the many mischievous white faced monkeys.

United States of AmericaCannot walk to town. Steep beach access. There is a smell of sewage on the property, especially by the pool area. They do this weird towel check out system for pool towels, which definitely gives the feel of a lesser property.
They had a great breakfast. Shower pressure was wonderful.
