Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandWe staid in the room under the restaurant and we could hear the noise form upstairs. The restaurant service is very slow. For breakfast it takes a long time for them to get to your table and for dinner if you don´t order first it takes hours for them to get your food.
The location is great, very near the centre of the village. Good parking and very safe. The food in the restaurant is delicious.

Moroccojust a small suggestion for improvement: the mattress could be a bit firmer to provide optimal comfort. Otherwise, everything else was excellent!
The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They offered a great variety of activities to choose from, making it easy to plan our days. The on-site restaurant was truly excellent. The hot stone tuna was a particular highlight – delicious! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay

United KingdomNot a dislike, more of a recommendation, the rooftop restaurant gets busy in the evenings and is also open to non-residents. If you want to eat there book a table so as to avoid disappointment.
We only stayed one night at Casa Strela B&B but it is a lovely place to stay. Our room was basic but comfortable and despite it having an external bathroom it was private, for our use only and with a key, and only a couple of paces outside our bedroom. The rooftop terrace with bar and restaurant is lovely. In the morning the view of the ocean whilst having breakfast is stunning. There is a limited menu for dinner in the evening but the quality of the food produced is excellent. The location is great, particularly as there is parking outside the property. It is only a few minutes walk to the main street and also a lovely promenade/exercise track which runs all the way along the edge of the sea to the small harbour at the top end of the town. If we ever returned to Tarrafal we would most certainly stay at Casa Strela again.

Breakfast was really good. For the the best i had in Cabo Verde. Most things are fresh and the terrace facing the sea is wonderful. Tours are not always avaialable and fairly pricy (I was in Decemeber)

United KingdomNothing major - the shower, bath and bathroom could do with updating in the room we stayed in (although water was hot everyday). If you use a credit card they add an additional % on the bill. This is made clear but its a shame they have to do this as this doesn't happen in other places and its difficult to get cash easily as there are daily limits on withdrawals and then you pay a cash handling fee!
Really nice guesthouse, 10 to 15 minute walk to Tarrafal beach. Room clean and large with comfortable bed. The best part of our stay was the food. The breakfast was excellent served on the roof top terrace. The dinner was so good we ended up eating here every night for 5 nights! Dinner was served on the roof top terrace as well with views of the sunset. It's best to reserve a table as the restaurant was full most evenings with guests as well as non guests. We really enjoyed the stone cooked Tuna and the chocolate mouse but all the dishes we had were delicious and reasonably priced. They have discounts with a dish of the day and a set 3 course menu which changes each day. We would stay here again if in Tarrafal. The guesthouse arranged a taxi to pick us up from our hotel in Praia and return us to the airport and tours are also offered through the guesthouse.

BelgiumOn Booking, it says that check-in isn't available before 14:00, so we tried to kill some time in Tarrafal after our initial arrival, but when we arrived at 13:55 hoping it'd be possible to check in a little early, the person at the reception said she had just closed it, that check in was UNTIL 14:00, and that she had to leave for an appointment - so we had a rushed check-in and didn't feel very welcome at the start.
Comfortable room, nicely decorated. The rooftop terrace is superb. This is THE place to stay for surfers (non-beginners) and is a 15 minute walk from the main beach in Tarrafal.

MoroccoThere was nothing we didn't like. Some evenings, the restaurant was so busy that we needed to wait for our dinner for quite a long time. Maybe that's something Strela could improve.
Casa Strela is a very cozy place to stay with a relaxed touch and surf vibes in the interior design. The staff was amazing, helpful and kind. The best way to start the day was a morning swim in the ocean (3 min walk) followed by a breakfast on the rooftop terrace with a beautiful ocean view.

United KingdomThere were some dogs barking nearby late at night, which disturbed us, but it was only one night out of three.
Lovely room , very charming, the food was great and breakfast choices and execution were really nice. There are a couple of restaurants nearby, one of which we went to frequently was very good. A bit of a walk to the town , but that didn't bother us. A little bit further the other way is the concentration camp, if you're interested. Manager and staff really helpful and welcoming.

NetherlandsLast week I stayed together with my father in various rooms at Casa Strela. We’re looking back on our stay with a big smile on our faces and made the best decision staying here on our visit of Tarrafal. The atmosphere in the B&B (and also in Tarrafal itself) is relaxed and our stay was very comfortable. The rooms are really nicely decorated and tidy and clean. Also the public places had a great atmosphere and were nice to hang out/spend time to relax. Also, the restaurant with it’s unique view and atmosphere, made our stay so pleasant. The breakfast and dinner meals are delicious and all served with great care. Finally, most important of all: the staff who made us feel at home. Specially Adla made our stay really pleasant. She was always very welcoming, helpful and kind. We loved talking to her. She helped arranging various excursions and trips and also told us more about the area and the culture. Adla really made our stay unforgettable. We very much recommend staying here and hope the people and the area will always stay this way. We can’t wait to go back!
