Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandNo option for own key for main entrance. Surrounding area is dubious and we did not feel safe walking at times, especially at evening time and early morning. There appeared to be a large number of drunk people, drug addicts, and unfortunately prostitutes on the walk way towards the hotel. However common sense applies and we found it was fine. We were not approached by any of these people and they did not take any notice of us. The only reason I am mentioning this is that it would not be suitable for solo female travelers or families. To be fair this is beyond the control of the hotel, who were very vigilant and secure. It is very close to the Christmas markets, main square which is why we visited Hamburg and central train station.
Extremely comfortable bed, really warm room. Plenty of hot water in shower. Staff were very pleasant. Secure hotel and 24 hour desk reception. Very close and easy walking distance to the central Christmas markets.

CanadaLight in the room. The carpet was a green shag. And the area was dodgy yet they didn't give you key to enter the hotel. Wouldn't recommend it for a solo female travel.
Staff were great and it was clean.

BulgariaI had booked the room during the day and didn’t arrive until after 9pm to check in to find the reception had no idea about my booking, after showing my reservation details he phoned hi colleague and we waited until someone else came to help, during this time they had people walking in looking for a room and I was glad we had arrived earlier than them. The room had no fan or air conditioning and opening the windows allowed in all the noise including bottles being broken in the street, not a restful night
Breakfast had a good selection & the 24 hour reception and luggage storage was helpful

Hong KongAir conditioning is necessary particularly when it is in summer. The room is a bit dark.
Room is spacious while the location is within walking distance from the main station. We listened to some noisy because we needed to open the window due to short of air conditioning. Breakfast was great and the staff replenished the food constantly.

Germany1. Surrounding, but it’s a price for a value for money option 🤷 2. A few things we didn’t get: 1) the receptionist didn’t want to speak English and prefer that my partner translates from German. I mean, it’s a hotel front desk, you should be able to say a few standard phrases, it’s not like I was looking for a conversation 😅 2) when it was check-out time there was nobody at the reception desk for about 15 minutes. We could drop the keys of course, but we also wanted to leave our luggage.
The hotel is great: the room was spacious and clean. Breakfast is on point: simple but everything is very fresh and tasty.

NetherlandsThe modern design of the room is somewhat ’darkish’. You need to switch on the light even on a bright sunny day. You do not hear much of the street but if your neighbors take a shower early in the morning you’ll probably hear it …
Recently redecorated, modern, in walking distance to station and a couple of museums. Sufficient breakfast with enough choices.

NetherlandsThe walls between the rooms could be a bit more sound resistant, but nothing to complain.
The rooms are comfortable and well decorated, the beds slept well and the location near the central station is very good. A good breakfast was included. The parking (E12/day) was at a central (public) parking spot which was quite busy, but luckily a spot was available.
