Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We were totally amazed by this hotel. Plenty of rooms and specious one, parking in the garage as a huge plus, excellent breakfast and though we did not use them, bar&restaurant and spa. Close but far to the highway, surrounded by stores.

More of a note, abit of walk to the S-Bahn (train station) bus does stop close by but only on Weekdays.
A good size one bedroom apartment, that matched our needs with a one and a half year old son very well, little balcony off living area was nice to get some sun, staff were very polite and spoke English as well as German. Good size shower which is very hard to find in Europe

The hotel sometimes looks old but renovation is in progress. It consists of 3 buildings
Great location to travel with a car. Good breakfast. 2 saunas, finnish and bio - clean and comfortable.

Extra bed for a third person in the room did not sleep very well for an adult. Rooms are warm during winter time so better to let the room cool down when you can as in the morning early some traffic can wake you up when the window is open during the night.
Very friendly staff. Very good breakfast with wide variety of choices. Also the restaurant for in the evening is good, good food and good atmosphere. When travelling location is good close to the highway. Room had good size!

Our room was "old" but very clean, to get in the bathtub we had to take a big step, might be hard for seniors and ppl with hip issues, no bar handle to hold on either.

We didn't quite understand it, but we were assigned to the older section of the hotel along with an outdated room. It had an unpleasant smell, old-fashioned decor, low-quality bath towels, and a view of the roof through the window. Upon entering the hall, you notice a distinct odor from the old bar, and it lacks coziness. Perhaps they should offer a discount due to the lower quality than what is depicted in the photos.
The breakfast was really great. A wide selection, quality, service and extended time slot on Sundays.

Good option for visiting Munich while ensuring good value for money. Great breakfast, fresh, tasty, and good variety of options. Helpful personnel offered good tips for our visit. We had one dinner at the hotel restaurant, also tasty and fresh but a bit too expensive.

The chef at their in-house restaurant was a bit dismissive when we disagreed with his limited recommendations - he was very casual about his recommendations anyway. We chose to have our meals at the many decent restaurants nearby and especially loved a lovely Italian food joint close by.
The quiet town of Eching, though an hour's ride away from the Thereisenweise, was lovely. Long walks in the are were very nice after all the excesses at the Oktoberfest! The property provided whatever they advertised and the breakfast spread was excellent. Will stay again!
