Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

the orientation of the building could have been better: we enjoyed our own breakfast on the terrace in the morning (8 am) but was still in the shadow in December. A table in the sunny area closeby would have been great!
in the middle of 'all inclusive" resorts, we get here a basic but very cost efficient accommodation with full flexibility to chose one on the many restaurant nearby (with good recommendation from the staff, the 'family restaurant' was excellent), a direct beach access and very close to the airport, while very quiet (we did not hear the planes). And we get advantage from the extra services (windsurfing course) of the neighbor resort.

Breakfast at the cafeteria is nice, if you get a breakfast box it is awful (think about it if you're planning to dive, since the cafeteria opens at 8am). No wifi in the room. I asked to get the room cleaned once and nobody cleaned.

A second sheet on the bed would be nice. As mentioned by others, for some reason you can't use the front-row sunbeds on the beach if you're a single male. The beach doesn't have a reef so don't expect to snorkel.
Well-located motel with large rooms and free access to a nice private beach (shared by several condos). Large rooms. Adequate comfort for the price and quite clean. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Wifi worked very well, maybe because my room was right next to the reception area. Copious breakfast.

No towels in room, and guests have to pick the towels from the reception, but they didn’t have clean towels when I arrived The person who picked my luggage and guided me to the room was not from the hotel’s staff, so he wasn’t professional at all, however he was a nice guy and he answered all the questions that I asked. The room I got is totally different than the pictures in booking.com website. It is not in the hotel’s main building, I got a studio apartment in a nearby building next to the “compound” security gate. It was still close; around 3-4 minutes walking to the beach. Room I got had a dirty/dusty floor, and there was rust coming from the water tap. This indicates that this “studio apartment” was closed for too long, and the room service didn’t clean it for months.
Price: the cost per night is very cheap Location: near Hurghada airport, and next to the shops and other interesting locations Beach: the private beach is accessible for free during the morning hours till sunset The place I stayed in had a full-sized refrigerator, electric stove, utensils to prepare light meals. For me, the air-conditioner was working fine and not noisy as other reviewers had experienced Shower had hot water

All instructions in the room are in Arabic. Тhe TV menu too. The hot water boiler was not switched ON upon arrival. Need to wait for hot water.
It is very close to the airport. Convenient if arriving or departing at night. Good beach. Good breakfast.

There was nothing to annoy me as a guest , however it can be better looking like similar bed runners , and curtains , matching chairs and so on
Very good location in the middle of Mamsha , staff is no nice and friendly , quite basic clean room , wonderful beach , they offer a nice breakfast in the restaurants at the entrance

No wifi, poor bed, no inhouse laundry service, bathroom door is really REALLY annoying. Price was not accurate on booking. They added a few dollars and NO WAVE VISA working threw me off. You have to ask for towels as well.

Breakfast is poor - they don't even provide drinks. You are not allowed to stay close to the sea on the beach - the first few lines of sunbeds are for guests of other hotels. Wi-Fi is available near the reception only - you must sit in the sun all day, which is hardly possible so just forget about this option.
Fair for the price. Room is ok - kettle, refrigerator, air conditioning, shower. A bit different from the pictures but not too much. The beach is within a minute's walking distance.
