Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room overlooked a central staircase. There was no privacy when curtains were open to allow light in. Putting blinds on the window could help.
It was very central. And a very good price. The room had a well equipped kitchenette.

There were rooms under renovation on our floor (early April 2024 after Easter)the first floor, as well as other areas which meant it was hard to rest in the afternoon, but workers didn't start until 10am and finished by 5pm...it has to happen sometime and I guess the off-peak times are best before the summer. Not too much inconvenience.
Well located and well stocked apartment with everything you need kitchen wise and the room is large with an inner courtyard giving good light into the room. Pool and terrace located on roof one floor above and there is good open air parking 5 mins walk across the road (20 euros/day). Very professional though friendly Receptionist speaks excellent English and was keen to assist with everything and made us feel very welcome to Pepe Mesa Apartments.There is also a Bar/Restaurant downstairs which looked good and not noisy inside or interfered with room amenity on floors above.

There were some bugs, probably cockroaches living under the stove and coming out at night to run on the kitchen unit. It felt very uncomfortable.
It’s centrally located, few minutes walk from the beach. The place itself has a beautiful charm with its white walls, colourful tiles and flowers. We enjoyed the bathtub and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Some Noice in some rooms. ( Tried three different ones.

Bed was really squeaky so when I turned in my sleep it kept waking me up. I guess the staff have no way of knowing since they don't lie on it.
Apartment had everything I needed. Great for cooking your own food and great location.

Free parking in the streets around, about 10 min to walk, could be difficult in high season.
Nice place to stay, especially in low season. Close to the centre and nice cafes and restaurants and beaches (10 min walk). Helpful hosts, good equipment including kitchen towels and a dish-washing liquid. We stayed longer than originally had intended. Lovely spacious terrace on the roof.

If I would not have met cockroaches in kitchen jumping around plates, then I would have put rating 8/9.
Location was good, all in all hotel is fancy, but it depends on the room you get, first night we spent in almost a wardrobe without proper windows and ability to get fresh air, but second night was very good in room 21, with private balcony and sea view. So for room rating 4 and 10.

I loved the location of Pepe Mesa it is light and clean with two lovely sun terraces to lounge in.
Very close to my friend's house and close to main route through Nerja.

Slight smell of smoke in the superior studio room, but this was acknowledged and we were able to change rooms
