Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GibraltarThe breakfast was lovely but the restaurant for lunch and dinner was a bit pricy and the menu was a bit limited.
The hotel is super cute with a really nice vibe. The room was large, very comfortable beds, great outside space, incredible views. The continental breakfast had lots of choice with delicious bread and traditional Spanish cheeses and cured meats

United StatesNo complaints. It was, for us, a comfortable one night place to sleep before catching the ferry to Morocco.
For us, it was a place for the night before ferrying to Morocco. Arte Vida fit our need and was a fun choice, right on the beach famous for Wind surfing. The hotel was filled with lots of "fun" art and mural paintings throughout, even on the ceilings. The dinner was very nice, though a bit on the expensive side. The hotel was basic but very reasonable priced. The included morning breakfast was typical and good to start the day. This is a terrific spot for the younger "surf" set. with outdoor bar area and looks like a lot of fi=un for the right crowd.

NetherlandsBeautiful location, right next to the beach. We watched the windsurfers as the sun set. The rooms are minimal, but very comfortable. Very kid-friendly as well, with a nice enclosed space to hang out in during the day and evening.

Spainsome staff is not focus at all… was a bit weird sometimes as I could see the communication was not working, had the feeling that the lady was a bit in the clouds. Also 85 eur for 1 night in low season I think that it is overpriced for 1 star hostel. Have to say Bf was included but even though the condition of the place and amenities were or broken or like abandoned… pity about it because at least a microwave in good conditions can be afforded.
Location is amazing, not first time here as I have been in this place many years ago. Was quite as it is January. Not noisy and room was clean also was super nice to have a crib there for my baby.

United KingdomOnce we'd settled in there wasn't a lot not to like to be honest. The place is 'well used' and could do with a bit of attention here and there but its not 5* and doesn't present itself as that. If thats what you want - don't go there. The food is very good but maybe a tiny bit expensive for the venue and surroundings but hey , I'd rather pay a tiny bit extra for good food than a bit less for poor food. Its not possible to walk into Tarifa so you need a car ideally. I'm not sure about buses.
I've thought long and hard about how to give a fair review of this establishment because it was a bit unique but in summary I would without hesitation return. I am a keen windsurfer and booked it solely for that reason. When we first arrived I had my doubts. The hotel is approached down an unmade road with Campers of various standards parked in the trees either side. The car park to the front is 'public' , and unsurfaced. We arrived about 11.00am and the front door was locked. Foliage almost conceals the side of the building. The man on reception confirmed we were at the right place and told us to return after 1.00pm. We did - and it got way better from then on ! The hotel majors on windsport clientele (although maybe not exclusively) It has a windsports hire centre/school attached and is superbly located for that purpose. The rooms open almost directly onto an outdoor lounge area right on the beach & dunes. The rooms are clean and perfectly serviceable. The restaurant is basic , overlooking the sea and the food was very good. Fresh and very well cooked and presented - but perhaps a tiny bit expensive. The weather wasn't the greatest for our stay (3 nights) but we had 1 fabulous day windsurfing and then relaxing in the garden/lounge area in the sun with a beer and some great traditional Soul and RnB music on the PA. That must be when the place excels. I understand its very busy in the summer - I bet it is. ! One final point - parking was provided within an enclosed service yard with a big metal gate. It felt secure and I was grateful for it.
