Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ChinaThe first night's room was so noisy, near the street, that it was impossible to sleep. We asked to change rooms, switch us in a very narrow room. The attic room has a low roof and often hits our heads. The cleaning service was also bad!

United KingdomThe hotel was smaller than I expected but that’s okay.
The staff was very friendly. They helped me out with everything I needed. I checked in early so one of the hotel receptionists offered me another room at no extra cost. And she was also booking me taxis in advance to get around and recommended some good activities to do in Madrid and how to navigate the city. Another hotel receptionist was also helpful in advising me where I can go watch football in Madrid.

United States of AmericaWe had 2 rooms booked and both rooms were on 4th floor under the roof rafters The roof rafters made up 50% of the room, in fact you are actually paying for a full room but getting half a room. My wife bumped into those rafters thrice in our 3 night stay! Beware, if you are given a room on 4th floor facing the street!
The hotel was very near to Puerto del Sol, which was great. We stayed there on 31st December night and we could witness the great vibe in the area. It was near to many important landmarks like the Palace and Prado Museum. Great location with lots of shops around!!

RomaniaIt wasn’t any shower gel, although an empty bottle was fixed on the wall.
The location it was perfect, because it wasnt’ exactly in Puerta del Sol, but very close. The breakfast was very tasty and you had what to eat. The room was very spacious, comfy, very big bathroom and nice view from the balcony. Also the AC was working great.

United States of AmericaThe hotel was hugely over-priced. It us barely a one-star property that charges $200/night. The only amenity was cheap, plastic glasses which were not renewed the second night. The towels were threadbare, We requested a quiet room and got a room overlooking the nosiest street in Spain. The location would have been alright, ( if noisy) except that the entire Puerto del Sol is a construction nightmare. The taxi had to drop us off 5 minutes walk from our hotel. Madrid is a beautiful city but do not stay in the Puerto del Sol for at least another year. We strongly suggest that you not consider the Ateneo property unless they drop the price to under $50/night. We could not wait to leave.

IrelandWe were given a room whose window was towards the technical space where the air conditioner cooling devices were located, which made an unbearable noise, and at night we could not stay with the window open because they released a lot of heat!!!! This was not shown in the pictures that can be found on the booking!!!!!!! I asked someone from the reception to schedule a taxi for us to the airport upon departure, we set the time at 3am.....he confirmed that we will definitely have a taxi in front of the location, but....nothing!!!!! ! Our luck that we accidentally found a taxi on the way and arrived at the airport in time as otherwise....we would have missed the flight!!!!!! I do not recommend this place full of unpleasant surprises at all!!!!!! One is presented in the images on the website and I received another !!!!!
