Nothing particular about hotel, however I was very disappointed with Cristina on reception, who offered us to take our money and leave cause we were very upset that AC wasn’t working in our room. Considering my husband’s health condition, it was very critical, no solution has been provided by Cristina but to take our money and leave. Very shocking behaviour and you would never expect this in hospitality and in 4 star hotel. Considering very high price for rooms.However Christopher and Javi were extremely helpful to us.

The location was perfect. Central for everything and all the major attractions. We did a walking tour which was great for all the bits you wouldn’t necessarily see or visit and lots of advice from the friendly tour guide Breakfast every morning was fabulous so much to choose from with exceptional friendly and helpful staff, lovely lounge to sit in and relax especially in the evenings after a days sightseeing whilst having a drink with friendly bar staff

Our room floor was dusty after the everday cleaning. But overall the room was super clean and the bed&towels are always clean

We have one of the pleasent stays we've ever had with Catalonia Atocha. I'm so happy to chose this nice hotel. The staff was so friendly from the moment we stepped into the hotel. The location of the hotel is amazing. 1 min far from a metro stop and 6-7 min walk to a very popular neighbourhoods. The pressure of the water in the bathroom alwas really strong which we don't see that often. The breakfast is to die for :) A lot of options for eggs, fruits, cheese, nuts, yoghurts, pancakesand even variety of choices for gluteen free. Our stay in Catalonia was beyond beautiful. Thanks so very much for everything.

While the breakfast was very good, it was definitely VERY expensive (~£20 per person per day). Since it's a buffet the cost is the same no matter how much you actually eat. The price point is pretty reasonable if you make full use of the cooked options but if you just have some granola and fruit, or a couple of pastries, it's probably not worth it. I did notice a bakery just a couple of doors down the street that may be a better choice if you think you only want a light breakfast. Having had another look online it looks like there's not a significant discount for pre-booking breakfast relative to not pre-booking it and paying in the day. So perhaps I'd recommend not pre-booking breakfast, and only paying for it on the days you definitely want a large meal to start the day. The hotel has some nice looking extra facilities like a spa but we were told at reception that you have to pay extra for that so didn't bother.

Having had an early morning flight we arrived in Madrid at 11:00. Knowing that check-in was not until 15:00 we dropped by the hotel, hoping to be able to drop off our larger bag before going out into the city. Instead, the friendly staff let us check-in to our room early at no extra cost! This was much appreciated. Additionally, on the last day after checking out we did then leave our main bag in reception before spending more time in town before our evening flight. The left-luggage system is very secure and organised with a ticket system and the bags are stored behind the main reception desk, which is always staffed. Additionally, I would say that the room was clean and nice, breakfast was very good and the location was convenient for access to both central Madrid and rail links out of the city. Some other reviews mention that it was on a noisy road. Our room was very quiet and we didn't have this issue. We were on the top floor though so may have just been lucky on that front.

Great location to access many areas of Madrid, walking or public transport. The underground is seconds from the front door and very easy to use. The hotel is modern and spacious with everything we needed. The room was immaculate when we arrived, and this was maintained on a daily basis. It had good facilities including plenty of electrical outlets and surface space, including a big bathroom. Very modern design, and a big comfortable bed.

the hotel staff was friendly and we checked in earlier. its a 15-20 minute away walking to the train station. breakfast was excellent we were there for 3 nights and ate there twice. room was nice , clean and comfortable.

It would have been nice if breakfast was included. You could pay extra, but for me, I normally just have a slice of toast and a coffee, so paying for a full buffet doesn't work out for me. There was instant coffee in the room, but there was only one, so not enough to get the day started.

Clean, great shower, super comfy bed. I was in an interior room, which, while it had no view, was protected from the road noise so it was quiet. Very compact, i.e. small. Lobby and bar were nicely appointed, and there was lots of well designed seating. Close to the train station and to the Prado.

Location was great, easy to get to Retiro Park and a lot of the other sites in the area. The customer service was excellent, there was a fridge in the room and the beds were comfy.
