We liked the rooms as they were spacious and clean with very comfortable beds. The hotel was close to the center and all the main attractions. The staff was really friendly.

We had to ask for a luggage rack (used the desk chair for the other piece of luggage). Never sure why even 4 star hotels in Europe often don't provide this). And it was strange that of all the other bathroom amenities, Kleenix (or facial tissue) weren't provided. We also had to call the front desk at 11:00pm as the occupants of the room above us (at least we thought it was them) were making a great deal of noise in that they were moving furniture around or were dragging something across the floor. This had occurred the night before as well but it had stopped at a reasonable time. On this night, the noise actually started around 9:30pm, but we didn't feel it was late enough in the evening to complain. But after listening to this noise for almost 1.5 hrs., by 11:00pm we had had it! Actually had to call the front desk twice as the first call didn't produce a solution.

I asked for, and received, a room with a walk-in shower (due to mobility reasons) and room 003 fit the bill completely. This twin bedded room had lots of room, adequate closet/shelving space, desk/chair, additional chair. The bathroom had all the usual amenities (except a washcloth but I always bring one with me -- and be sure it's a different color other than white just in case the housekeeping staff think it's one of their's!). Good water pressure in the sink/walk-in-shower. In fact the room was so satisfactory, that we asked for the same room when we returned to the hotel after a 3 night stay in Santiago. The buffet breakfast was very good with the usual cold cuts, breads, pastries, 2 coffee-making machines, fruits, cheese, Spanish omelette of the day plus the possibility of eggs to order. There is also a bar with good seating and a TV for sports fans, plus a small terrace. I purposely mention slow walks as when Google map indicates it takes 9 min to get someplace, that's for someone young and fit! We usually double the time! In any event, I specifically chose this location due to the proximity to Plaza Mayor, which was a slow 20 min walk. Plaza St. Ana with loads of restaurants/bars is within a slow 10 min. walk. Hotel is very close to Atocha train station, the Prado museum is about a slow 15 min. walk using back streets. There's also a near-by metro station. Several other restaurants, bars, ice cream places in the vicinity. The front desk was also very accommodating in arranging for taxis to pick us up for train stations and for a very early a.m. airport departure.

We wanted to have a few drinks in the bar but there was no bartender and there was no music. The breakfast seems very expensive, especially for Madrid so we ate outside.

The bedroom is spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. Eco-friendly products in the bathroom. Very good location.

If I had to pick anything, I would have liked more coffee and milk in the room. 1 drink each per day was not enough for us - there was a good selection of tea but not enough milk (even if we had wanted to drink tea). I’m sure if we’d asked, they would have provided more.

Location was perfect - very central, with easy access to all areas of the City. Even though we were in the City, the room was well insulated from the noise and we didn’t hear anything at night - it was very comfortable and a great nights sleep. The breakfast was very well presented and a really good selection. The team were very welcoming and helpful.

The gym has very little space - too much equipment is in the room for its size. It also would have been nice to have airconditioning in the room.

The room was in great condition and there was superb soundproofing so we heard nothing from the nearby streets. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast, with a very wide range of food on offer and all very high quality.

Reception staff could be friendlier as we didn’t receive much help with extending our stay directly and instead were told to just check the website and that they are unable to confirm if rooms are available etc. and breakfast price was €21/pp which we decided to skip as several independent cafes available next door to the hotel

Perfect location located a short distance by walk to the main station, the main museums, main plazas, main food outlets everything was easy to access by foot did not need to use taxis/public transport, room was very spacious, fridge and desk provided, double balcony was also great, slippers/robes/toiletries provided. Location was so fantastic we decided to extend our stay by 4 nights on their direct website
