Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe third bed in our triple room did not have its own bedside light.
The location is excellent, a few minutes from Place de Catalunya, the main hub in Barcelona. The hotel is clean and comfortable. No frills but the bathroom was very well equipped - good shower - and more like a 4 start than a 2 star. The hotel is on a busy road but the noise did not disturb us. Breakfast was also good value.

TurkeyIt doesn’t have sound insulation. I couldn’t sleep because of the noise. It doesn’t have air conditioner. The ventilation system wasn’t working well. The room was too small. The windows were always shut. The staff doesn’t know English.
It’s in the center. You can go many places on foot.

BulgariaThe only thing we missed was the lack of a fridge in the room. May a chair or two in the rooms will do a good job.
It's the perfect location for everyone visiting Barcelona. You get out of the hotel and you can walk right into the Universitat Metro station. The Plaça Catalunya is a walking distance, too. The beds are very comfortable, the hotel is clean, very well maintained. The towels are changed every day. Very helpful and kind staff. They assisted us in every possible way.

DenmarkRoom 304 Cleaning every day, but apparently no dusting at the bathroom, tables besides the bed and closet generally. Thorough cleaning would do a lot at the whole room. The door to the bathroom had much moist damage– about 20 cm. from the bottom of the door and up. Extraction at the bathroom didn’t work very well. And you can’t open the window in the room, that would properly help a lot with the moist. The skirting board to the bathroom was broken – ask to get it fixed but wasn’t fixed when I left after 3 nights. The floor was generally uneven and there was a big hole at the one side of the bed. Hardest bed I ever slept in – there was a summer duve,t which was nice as it was cold in the night The breakfast isn’t 8 euros worth – not much to choose from. The hotel seems to be worn out. Lived at a 1 star hotel afterwards - so much better.
Arrived late evening – good welcome from the staff. Staff is very friendly. Central location

IrelandVery very disappointing. Below basic. I had booked this hotel as I had stayed in the Soho Boutique hotel in Malaga which was superb. Imagine my disappointment when I saw this. It was like a hostel. No shampoo or body wash, safe broken, not a table or a chair to put yr clothes on. Shower noises from other rooms kept waking me up. The air on made noises all night. A very nice guy on reception called Andrei. Very helpful.

Location - bang opposite to metro station, city center, availability of restaurants for all essentials. The rooms are small, of you want an individual then take the double bed room good however craped. if you are 2 then take the larger room. The people from hotel are very friendly and supportive. they walked the extra mile to support upgrade the room. once upgraded it was perfect.

EgyptAs probably for security reasons windows cannot totally be open, this means you cannot have fresh air inside the room unless you open the room,
The location of this hotel is amazing, it is a round big tour, and I think all rooms have a look on the street, which is a very alive street, you can see all the tourist walking, also it has a look on placa universitat ( University Square) my only concern, windows (I had two windows) cannot be open, they are without a handle so they cannot be open at all, maybe they are afraid that someone might fall? but still they are large windows and very nice and show the sun
