Nothing the property could do about a couple of days violent weather which resulted in sporadic electricity outages, but these were dealt with in good humour by those present and the management did their utmost to alleviate issues caused till the electricity was restored

this is a rural retreat hidden away from main roads. a lovely compact swimming pool. we opted to pay for a breakfast which was good value for money - cereals, fruit juice, breads, pastries. Continental meats and cheeses, yoghurts and fresh fruit. I noticed Gluten -free is catered for on request. The coffee con leche was to die for!! I was able to regularly change my towels as I used the swimming pool a lot - just drop them in reception for a replacement. Great local knowledge. we also poached knowledge from specialist groups visiting for bird watching specialities and locations. The staff were superb in their conversations with us - so sorry we don't speak Spanish but their English is excellent

I was there at a very windy period so the trees were creating a lot of noise. The Internet was very slow in the cabin

Getting out of the property to head in the direction of Tarifa was very complicated and not all too safe. No laundry facilities in the cabin or in the hotel as far as I know.

Nice large grounds with plenty of birds and nice vegetation. Nice cabins with good kitchen facilities. Good Wifi. Nice pool although we did not use it. Some trails through the property.

We were staying in the Commander's House, a typical Andalucian house surrounded by cork forest.. It was next to the swimming pool (not open in March) with a large shaded garden and seating area outside. The house was very comfortable and would be a cool haven in the hot summer months. We had travelled to this area to photograph bird migrations from Africa and we were made to feel very welcome. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful and even gave us free coffee at the little cafe on the first day as a welcome gift. The area is full of birds - on the feeders and flying overhead. We also followed a beautiful path through the corkwoods towards the sea and with views over Gibraltar in one direction and Africa the other. This is a wonderful area for birdwatching and you can be sure of a friendly welcome if you stay here.

Was a little far from any amenities (such as restaurants) but this may change when the busy season starts and places stay open longer. we were able to walk to a small market though.

beautiful property, very well maintained throughout, a bird watching sanctuary. we stayed in individual cabins that had a bedroom, bathroom, living space with kitchenette and an outside porch. super cute and super clean. a quiet retreat after returning from Morocco! Great owners, very supportive and helpful.

We have stayed at Huerta Grande many times and we absolutely love it. Even when the weather was awful outside, the cabin was super cosy and we stayed dry in the warmth. Such a lovely place to switch off from the world

the fact that you have to use the car to travel around think it would benefit from having a little kiosk that sells drinks and ice creams around the pool area in the summer months
