Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

PolandThe smell in my room... I stayed in Jacuzzi Suite on the 14th floor. The room itself was great but it was difficult to bear the smell from the bathroom pipes. We slept with windows open because AC did not solve the problem.

Great hotel located not too far from the airport and about 15mins by train into town. Very friendly staff at reception who made us feel welcome on our first visit to Barcelona. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and my friends were even able to order fresh eggs from the kitchen. We had an incident where we thought one of our items had been stolen at the hotel (turned out it was lost at the airport!). The staff at the hotel handled this professionally, going out of their way to help us check security cameras to see what may have happened. We are very grateful for this. All in all, a fantastic hotel with great facilities. We unfortunately didn't get a chance to visit the spa but it looked great!

SingaporeThe checkin procedure. I think a bit more empathy would have been appreciated. We had requested early checking coming in after 20 hours total flight duration including layover. Saw a few guests checking out earlier while we waited since 9.00 am and yet could secure the room around 1.00 pm. While we ourselves checked out the following day at 7.00 am and am sure there are guests who checkin later in the day, the requested early check in could have been obliged or better managed for sure. This will go a long way to instill goodwill.
Room location was decent. Room was far more spacious and well laid out than what we had thought of.

GermanyThe Breakfast has all one can imagine: Fruits, Different type of bread, various juices and many more ! The SPA area is also great to use. It is for sure an hotel to enjoy. It is 5-7 min walk to the Metro and the TRAM/BUS stops as well. A very big commercial center with many restaurants, shops and a cinema is very close to the hotel.

Excellent Hotel. Great facilities, very clean and comfortable. Lots of choice of food at breakfast. Although quite a way out of town it’s near the tram and metro so can get into the city centre quickly. Easy to get to the beach too.

United KingdomThe smell in the bathroom was quite unpleasant. I did feel the bathroom could have been cleaner as the rest of the room was. I can't say it was the most welcoming of hotels.
The hotel is okay, the breakfast was great with plenty of choice. The room was well equipped with all the usual things, and included a microwave which was a bit odd in my view. Being on a very high floor meant the view from my room was lovely.
