Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A bit of difficulty in the check in process but was resolved quickly. Other than that, nothing.
The host was responsive in their replies. Location was great, a min from eateries and 3-4mins from shopping such Primark, Zara etc. The place is also a minute walk from the Flamenco show place. The property has everything we needed - washing machine, full kitchenette (frying pans, fridge, induction etc) among others. There is an elevator for us to bring our big luggages. The place is secured and have all the necessary measures that makes us feel safe. The place is very big so can even fit up to 4 persons. The bathroom amenities are fully provided (hairdryer, toilet paper, shampoo/bath foam). It is like a homestay. Place is quiet so no disturbance during our sleep.

The sofa bed was not comfortable and the check-in process took a while but it was a busy time when we traveled, so it's understandable.
The apartment has a wonderful location, right in the heart of the city. It is fully furnished with everything you might need for a few days' visit. The terrace/balcony for the room we chose is also fantastic.

Lets start first with the location - less than a minute to Gran Via, only a few minutes walking to Sol, I was very very impressed. The room that we got was small, but it had absolutely everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, the mattress and pillows of good quality and each night we had a relaxing sleep. The AC in the room was working, bathroom was small but very, very clean. And special thanks to the people at the reception - we were able to leave our luggage there before and after our stay. I do appreciate this highly! No problems with sounds whatsoever, we had a very peaceful stay. I would definitely consider visiting Far Home again :)

keep in mind, walls are super thin and its super noisy in the night with lots of walking around. the room doors automatically lock you out at 11am sharp on checkout day. Also, keep your eyes peeled for the small sign on the frontage announcing the existence of this hostel
Awesome location. rest everything, go in with expectations of being a "hostel" for students.

Balconia, small dirty an no view. No cleaning the room. we lock up inside let the key inside Nevertheless, a staff came in and took our clothes rack. At this time I was on the toilet. This is for me a no go!

The bathroom is a bit humid and the towels stayed wet during the whole stay. We checked in pretty late and the door buzz doesn’t work so we waited for quite a while until someone fortunately is leaving the apartment to open the door for us.
Great location, right next to Gran Via and within walking distance to tons of bars and clubs. Many tourist attractions are also less then 20 minutes away by foot. The hot water is really nice, beds are comfortable and clean.

The TV was very small, but we didn't really use it, and it wasn't a problem. Lots of other pluses to make up for it.
The location is great! Right off the Gran Via, very close to two stops on the metro. Lots of shopping and restaurants very close and a five minute walk to the Plaza Mayor. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

The windows of the room provide no isolation of whatsoever, neither for the noise from outside, nor for the cold air. We had to keep double layer of curtains on the windows all the time, otherwise the room got really cold, due to the cold weather outside on the days of our visit.
The location of the hostel was very central and we almost used no public transport while in Madrid. Our room had its own private bathroom, and hosted only 4 people, which is quite ok for a dorm. I think this hostel gives good value for money, considering the location.

Provide info (sign) stating what floor check in/reception is as this wasn't obvious. Otherwise, everything was great!
We loved our stay: very clean and the apartment had everything we needed. There was a great kitchen area with dishwasher, washing machine, cooking facilities and coffee maker. Check in was very informative - guiding us to the room - and the terrace was so lovely for eating breakfast. The location is amazing too - so central and lots of great restaurants and shops in the area! We'd definitely stay here again. Great value!

Shared spaces are very limited. In case of arrival before check-in time, there is not really a space to stay at the hostel. Shower drain was clogged, so water accumulated in the shower.
Location is great! Lockers and towels are included in the price. Shower gel is also available in the bathroom.
