Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Excellent location in the gothic quarter, rooms were clean and beds were comfortable, the view with a little balcony in front of the church is everything we wanted. Breakfast was very nice. Overall great value for your money I definitely recommend!

The odours in the room were too strong. I understand that it is nice if the room is a little perfumed, but the room was absolutely too much perfumed.
Location is great in the middle of everything. The staff was nice, room clean. The self-service breakfast was also very good with enough different food to choose. The responsivness of the staff was instant and always very polite. Also their restaurant has quite good food to eat in the evening.

The room was very small, however was fine for the few days we were there. The breakfast was nothing special, for us it was important as we were travelling with a toddler, but if you don't need it better to grab breakfast somewhere in the city, they have amazing bakeries and food in general is very good across town
Great location, staff at reception were incredibly nice and helpful in various ways (getting additional towels when maids forgot to change them, recommendations for best local places to eat, etc.).

Excellent breakfast with many selections for all tastes. Staff works hard to keep food ready. Room smallish but spotless with lovely modern bathroom, hot water, and comfortable bed. Location in Gothic quarter near LaRambla and Liceu metro is perfect!

Room was a bit small, but nevertheless very comfortable!
The staff was very nice and welcoming. We felt safe the whole time, especially because there was someone at the reception 24/7. Although the street could be a bit noisy at night, the location was perfect and we slept great. The breakfast buffet was basic but nice!

The window was pretty small, right onto a wall so there was not too much od daylight. But after all in motivated us to walk around the city.
The location was great - all the main attractions were within walking distance. The room was quite small but clean. Breakfast was an excellent addition to the stay.

Excellent location within the old town and a great base to tour from, either by walking or by metro (4 minutes away on La Rambla). The Barcelona Card for multi day public transport highly recommended, this is also available from the airport. Rooms though small were very clean and adequate offering the basics including on-suite, the shower was particularly good with plenty of hot water and volume. In addition, the rooms had wifi, personal security safe and comfy beds. Breakfast was included giving a great start for the day. An arranged walking tour of the old town (staring 10 minutes away) on our arrival at the end of our first day was a great way to gain familiarity of our surroundings right from the start. Just across the lane 2-3 minutes walk is the Placa Riel square with many terraced bars and Restaurants with great food. Hotel staff were friendly helpful and offered to print our boarding cards for the return flight.

Can not use A/C when the room a little hot. The other guests (looks like a family) talking on the hallway with loud voices in the night.

The main heater didn’t work, it turned it self off, luckily there was an electric heater in the room.
The location is excellent, right in the gothic quarter of Barcelona, couple of minutes walk to Ramblas, shops of all sort can be fund within walking distance, bars and restaurants. Very friendly and polite reception staff.
