Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Difficult to find (building in General and then on 3rd floor) Its clean and the comfort is ok, but its a bit oldish (the furniture)

It was a twin room hostel close to everything, so nothing was not as expected.
Great location just of the Sol Plaza. Room was small and cosy but suitable for our megre requirements. Lots of cafe and restaurants and shops around. Reception staff were friendly, understood our English and were eager to help out.

Nothing really, apart from if you have trouble sleeping or wake up easily , you may have trouble. As with the location, there is people up and down outside your window till after 4 in the morning. It didn't bother me, I was fine with it so nothing I didn't like.
The location is seconds walk from the town.

N/A everything was amazing
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. They offered a change of sheets etc for the room even though we only stayed two nights and was ideal as the room had been left abit messy that morning. The location was perfect as it was near all amenities and the underground was also 2 minutes away making it easy to travel further and offered a way to and from the airport. The value for money was a amazing and I am so surprised how good the services and staff were considering how cheap it had been.

Not the cleanest place. Internet signal was very weak. Was not clear how to buzz at the door to get in, luckily the guy across the street came to help us buzz in!
Location was amazing, within walking distance of everything we needed to see. Staff was nice. Showers were surprisingly good! There is also a tiny elevator so you don't need to drag your luggage up the stairs.

no working elevator - hostal is on 3th floor, the floor in our room and bathroom were not very clean, they should indicate better where to go to inside the building

The escalator was out of order, so with heavy suitcases to 3rd floor was quite a tough lift.

No elever and its on 3rd floor. So it was hard to take suitcases through stairs. Room and washroom was small. But i think its okay for the price.

What we didn’t like is that the room is not able to be closed at night. So you have to stay in the opened room during your staying inside.
The best thing about the hostal is the location. It is in the city centre, so you can get any necessary place in 10 minutes . The stuff was very friendly and they speak English, that’s very nice as well.

The stairs up to the hostel, some slight smell during my stay.

The property is right in the middle of the Madrid. You can just go everywhere in centro by walking. If you want silence, dont go there because it is loud (but you can still sleeo through it) until 3-4 am which we like because we really miss nightouts during COVID lockdowns. The room was clean but the design was not really good. However it is realy the best hostel that you can stay for this price. I really recommend!

Having to leave your keys at the desk each time you wanted to leave and having to be buzzed in each time you entered was a MAJOR inconvenience.
Air conditioning worked very well. The shower was good.

There was noise coming from the outside, but when you want to be in the center, you have to be ready for it. ))

It was extremely noisy during nights due to the bars nearby...We couldn't fall asleep at all...And the beds weren't very clean either...We even found someone else's hair on the quilt...

It was in the center of the Sol, everything was nerlar to it. The public transport was also near, about 1-2 minutes, so it was easy to go anywhere, importantly to the airport. The people in the hostal were really kind and helpful, i can't even write down how munch. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean and everything else.
