Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Apartment was on the ground floor and didn't get any sunlight so it was dark. The lighting was very dim too. We had a terrace but we didn't use it due to the smell of the drain. Also it seems like a bad idea to use the same passcode for the front door and the apartment door.
Great location and large kitchen with good facilities. Also nice and quiet.

It is a bit damp (not easy to air the bathroom), and a bit smelly from the drains. Also because of mosquitos not great to keep the windows open. maybe mosquito plug ins to prevent them would be good. We slept with windows closed but still got annoyed by mozzies!
Nicely decorated and furnished large apartment. East check in process. Helpful staff who brought over a clothes drying rack (there was not one in the apartment but it was in the listing, and we needed to do some laundry). Easy to keep the apartment cool in hot weather because of the dark design. no need for the aircon, but it was available if enquired. Dishwasher, Nespresso machine available.

There are a so many light switches you had to circle the room to find out which one did what! Also had some minor technical difficulties WiFi wouldn’t connect Toilet adjacent to bedroom was running all night due to a leak and for a two night stay for two people they really need to leave a couple more coffee pods than just 2. Everything got fixed the next day. Would have been nice of them to offer some discount for the inconveniences.
loved having a washing machine and the surrounding neighborhood offered a lot staff was very helpful

NO WAY TO PARK NEARBY! Paid a small fortune for parking. The apartment smelled a bit of mold, as if the apartment has been closed for a few months and gets really humid. Toilet in the bedroom had a leaky flush so it really annoyed me how much water was being wasted.
Great staff (chatted via whatsapp), great location, air con, inner patio, comfortable beds, working TV, working fridge (was already plugged when we arrived so could use it right away)

There were various insects & bugs that showed up throughout or stay. Bug spray of some kind would've been helpful. We imagine it mainly due to the changing season and the general state of the building, not necessarily related to cleanliness of the apartment.
The location of this apartment was a nice surprise. Although we visit Sevilla often, this was our first time traveling with our dogs & staying in this area.

Nothing, they’d thought of everything, even washing up liquid and shower gel, towels, dishwasher, microwave, cooker, everything was included
Location was perfect right in the center of town, not a long walk from all the major attractions. It had every facility, they’d thought of everything

The apartments were in the same building and in a great location. Everything was clean and as expected. The check in process was super easy and the hosts were very responsive on WhatsApp.

The suite was poorly maintained (no hot water in one of the bathrooms, no light bulb in the reading lamp, light on stairs not working, doors did not close well...), Poorly equipped (half a roll of toilet paper for 2 bathrooms, no kitchen towels).
The location was perfect. The apartment is spacious & the beds comfortable. I liked the terrace, though there is no view, except the evening sky. Nice to have a fresh air space.

It was extremely hard to contact the owner. We’ve tried to contact the property through text and calls for a couple of days before with no answer. The phone contact given by booking was wrong and it was from a lady from Madrid. The other contact was not available. We were with 3 children and couldn’t check-in earlier. It was only after mid-day that we were contacted by a member of the staff and the check-in was done by text. There was an unpleasant smell in the air, it was so bad that we were about to vomit.
The flat was comfy and the decoration was really nice. The location was good next to bars and cafes. There are kebabs and pizza shops open until late.
