Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

stairs where a bit of a pain but hey, was well worth it.
great location, air con was a massive bonus, heaps of light in our room and all round really helpful and friendly staff.

The heating mostly didn't work, it was freezing, there was nowhere in the shared bathroom to wash your hands or hang your clothes, no soap or toilet roll holder so not hygienic.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was great

I must say that this is awesome. Cheaper than you think. I paid just 20 euro for a room with breakfast. Clean as crystal. I would specially extend my gratitude to the staff and their professional dealing. One of them was kind enough to book my ticket for Alhambra with her own credit card. They behave just like family. The hotel is old but it is well maintained. It also adds value to the hotel as Granada is hundred years old and it is mostly visited for its history.

The shower. It was impossible to take a shower without filling the floor with water wich it made it quite dangerous to step out.

We can't manually set the heater.
Staff was really nice and helpful ! The terrace had an amazing view over the city. Bed was comfortable and there was a bathtub. Wifi was working really well!

Even though it states on their page that the reception is working until 22h (10pm) we came at 20.30 (8.30pm) and nobody was around. We had to call several numbers to get into the hotel and nervous guy who came told us that we were lucky that he let us in. Location is in crowded street, very very loud and without any privacy. Hotel was very dirty, water was leaking and the bed was broken. One of the worst experiences on Booking.
The only good thing was a location, which was somewhat in center.

No AC. I even showed them how booking.com had them listed as having ac and they just shrugged their shoulders and said it was a mistake. But if I left, no refund. No AC on the hottest day of the year, is not acceptable if it says it has AC.
Location was good. It’s close to everything. The train station is a 15 minute walk. The bus station is over 2 miles away. All tourist areas or the buses to get to them are near by.

The customer service from the people running this hostel was disgraceful! They tried to forcefully kick me and my friends out at 3 am and told us to stay on the streets! They called the police on us and was racist towards me and my friend by calling us 'negrita' to the police which i was disgusting as i was a paying customer like everyone else! I am still shocked at the service i received from this hostel and would not want anyone else to experience what i went through!
i didn't like anything about this hostel, since the moment i arrived with my friend the customer service was terrible and not welcoming at all! The manager was aggressive and very intimidating and I wouldn't want anyone to experience what me and my friends experienced.

The staff was fantastic, good advicers, veryyyyy nice, always smiling, helpful, they're perfect really. It's very close to the cathedral so the localisation is perfect!
