Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The front desk is right in front of your door, so you do not have a lot of privacy while there are people there and if they are talking you can hear inside your room.
The location is perfect, very close to everything, great restaurants, bars, touristic places. The room is very comfortable and clean. Inside the apartment is very silent, but Im not sure if is the same during the busy season.

The plumbing sounds were a little loud between runs
The location in the old town was perfect. The air conditioning was awesome due to the usually hot temperatures. The staff could not have been more accommodating or welcoming to us. They gave us recommendations that were top notch

The tariff did seem rather high for a pension/ guesthouse type establishment, especially considering that it was still June and therefore not yet high season. However, Donostia in general does seem to be a very expensive town.
Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, willing to help with all aspects of our stay and ready to share invaluable and interesting local knowledge. Secure, spotless room in the old quarter of Donostia-San Sebastian, close to the beach. Comfortable bed, good shower and nice, quiet but efficient aircon. Triple glazing shut out almost all the street noise. Extra touches like tea and coffee-making facilities, an umbrella, beach towels etc. were much appreciated. The room was on the small side but I do understand that this is a historic building and so more compact dimensions are to be expected.

Perfect location in old town close to the port. Room nicely designed and well equipped. Absolutely professional handling of the entire process from booking over check-in, on-site support and checkout to payment. Theoretically, you could do all this online/remote which would be a pity since the team are extremely nice. Great recommendations for restaurants and pintxo bars (and what to eat where) in different categories and different parts of town.

Can be a bit noisy at night but that’s the old town vibe.
The location just can’t be better! Very nice hosts who will share with you the recommendations for sightseeing and gastronomic experience. No breakfast included but you will get 10% discount in a great cafe just minutes away.

Only remark we had was that has limited natural daylight. There were doors to a small balcony, but they don't bring natural light to the room.
PERFECT location. We came by car, and also good information upfront about parking facilities. Room was spacious, great airco, good beds and super clean. Information was perfect to get into the space and in the room also more local info.

High rates on late booking, due to high demand in this season.
Very kind and informative owners. Location in the old town next to the harbour, local buses and pintxos bars. We got a lot of useful information and recommendations from the owners. Easy acces to the flat. Elevator. Friendly and familiar way of communication. Keyless access. Appropriate preliminary information via e-mail, acessibility by phone of the owners.
