Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaUnfortunately, the pool and lawn area are set up as a resort style disco for much of the day, packed with local kids and young families. This is the only shaded part of the hotel in summer, so not a place to get away from it all.
The hotel was located in a picturesque little town close to local sights, in particular the Rio Piedra monastery and cascades.. It had helpful but non-English speaking staff and a formal restaurant, with reasonable but expensive food.

GuernseySwimming pool empty. End of September may be too late or could be a anti Covid requirement. Don’t like newspaper decoration of wall in our bedroom. I think this is not norm of all hotel rooms.
Proximity to waterfalls is great and we had an an excellent dinner in restaurant. Very nice owner.

SpainThe breakfast wasn't great quality - the cheapest possible ingredients laid out on a trestle table. Very unappealing and uninviting.
It was okay - nothing fancy, but clean and in a great location. Unfortunately, the weather was poor but otherwise the garden/pool looked lovely to hang out in.

United KingdomBreakfast was just continental - no cooked option. Swimming pool not yet open - understandably a little early in the season. No lounge area inside the hotel to sit. Plenty outside if not too chilly.
Easy parking. 4 minutes drive from Monasterio de Piedra. Friendly owners. Owner has deep interest in wine and showed us his wine cellar, also suggested a nearby Bodega to visit. Dinner excellent. Wine a little expensive but very enjoyable. Hosts did not speak any English and menu all in Spanish but this didn’t really cause any issues - Google Translate was good to have!

United States of AmericaThe Manager refused to honor the price for the room (2 single beds in a non-smoking room) we booked and when we refused to pay more, he gave us a very stinky smoking room with a queen bed that was hard as a rock. Not realizing we could understand Spanish, when the receptionist asked him why he didn't just give us the room we had reserved, he told her we were Americans and he wanted us to pay more money. If we could have gone anywhere else, we would have, but it was already late in the day and options are limited in the area. But I would highly recommend people avoid this place. The Manager is dishonest and takes advantage of travelers.
The breakfast was good and plentiful with fresh fruit and ample selection of pastries. The room was large enough and the a/c worked well.

SpainThe quality of the food was well below par. Even though the menu for guests was at a low price, the quality was terrible. In addition the amount of staff was insufficient for the volume of guests and the lack of organisation of the staff was evident. Of course a 1st communion was being celebrated at the hotel and I believe letting other guests know this beforehand will help them adjust their expectations because it makes the flaws all the more evident. If you want to have a hotel, a restaurant, a cafeteria AND host events, you need to be on top of your game. I suppose the place is run by a family and I got the sense that it is time for an overhaul because the small details are lacking - especially from the ¨elderly man¨ who seemed not to be bothered really - my wife asked for a glass of wine and he brought the glass with the wine in it to the table. We didn´t know what the name was, what the bottle looked like or whether it was leftovers from the communion celebration(sinister I know but what would you think?). If not for the enthusiasm generated by the son(the person we dealt with), this place would seem a lot less acceptable than it is.
The location and the person we dealt with on arrival was very friendly.
