While the room and other issues were more than fine, really good, I must point out two things about the bathroom. First, a minor one: the door separating bedroom and toilet was a (translucent) frosted glass door (I'd rather have a wooden or similar one: to me, seems more private/insulating). Secondly and more important, the shower knob/control is around 2 meters away from the shower (is on the wall in front of the shower column... you don't have to leave the shower tub to handle flow, temperature... but you might slip when moving to manipulate)

The room was really spacious, clean, modern, and the bathroom, too. Large TV set and ample closet. Breakfast (buffet) was really good, both in quality and diversity. Breakfast lounge was also very spacious and cozy. The whole hotel gives an overall impression of being modern, clean and well-maintained. Staff, very friendly and helpful, always cooperative.

Air conditioning in hotel turned off because of outside temperature. Room very warm. Opening window meant quite a bit of street noise - too much to sleep through. With A/C, or for a heavy sleeper, would be a 9 or 10.

Usually Marriott stateside upgrades us to a King size bed when available. I booked a Superior room and paid $20+ more than the basic room, yet they put us in a corner room with no view and a queen sized bed. Next time I'll book at NH Collection or Paris Spa hotel and there's a number of others in the walking district of Leon. Beautiful little town, but the area of this AC Hotel is outdated and lifeless. The breakfast buffet was nice, coffee was great - the breakfast staff person was very mean and spoke no English and demanded our room number - very rude. So all staff that we interacted with were not well trained and knew nothing of customer service.

Book a standard room here - don't be fooled by upgrades. Apparently this location of AC Marriott only has one room type. Leon boasts gorgeous plazas and antiquated charm. Walking brings delight at every corner with green spaces, statues, old walls and abundant charm. Front desk clerk said the building only had one king size bed - so what did I pay for by booking a Superior Room? In the states a basic or Standard room often has a queen sized bed and superior either denotes a larger size, better view or some value for the money.

This Hotel was located right next door to El Corte Ingles (a big shopping centre with clothes, food etc) so very convenient, the hotel itself was very comfortable and the breakfast offering was very good, the rooms were large with a bath tub, coffee machine and tv and desk to work - we were upgraded to larger rooms but it was a great stay. You arent located centrally to the old town to see the museum and cathedral but it is really only a 15min walk so not far at all.
