Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandLiked everything.
We loved our one night stay at this delightful place. Arrived around 9am and staff helped us store our luggage. We headed off to the Regina Sophia museum (3 minutes walk away), then the Prado (10 minutes walk past the beautiful botanical gardens). Our room was small but compact and perfectly comfortable. By "checking in online," we received free coffee and soft drinks and were offered 10 euro breakfast, which was top class. Staff were amazingly helpful and friendly and seemed to love working there. Excellent value for money.

SlovakiaThere is no storage space in the room aside from a few hangers. You can't really unpack your suitcase. The room is big and there was plenty of room for some wardrobe or drawers. There was no toilet brush.
The hotel is in an excellent location near various sights, bars, restaurants and public transportation options. The staff was friendly. There is a nice lounge area with free drinks (coffee, tea, water) as well as a beautiful rooftop area where breakfast is also served. The breakfast was very good with various options including some Spanish foods. The room was nice and spacious. We even had three balconies. The bathroom was clean and large. There was a built-in Bluetooth speaker in the ceiling so we could listen to our music.

SpainMy only comment is that the fire exit sign is bright at night to sleep.
The rooms are more spacious than they look on the photo. For the price and location, they are great for a short stay. The facilities are excellent with work space and free refreshments. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

AustraliaIt is so close to the Reine Sofie museum, with Picasso’s Geurnica as well as the Atocha station and the Hop on Hop Off bus. The room was small but it had everything I needed. I added the breakfast for 10 euros which was a great buffet of variety and home cooked food. The staff speak excellent English and were super-helpful.

SingaporeThe outside sinks are convenient but splash water onto the bedroom area. Perhaps a bathmat can be provided for the sink area. No kettles provided in the room.
Great breakfast - they packed a picnic when we had to leave early. Staff are super friendly .

United States of AmericaThis was my first time in Madrid. I booked for an overnight stay before flying out from Madrid back to the US. I found the location very convenient (from Renfe station and to airport). Staff were friendly (and helpful). The economy single was a reasonable cost/accommodation and more than met my needs for a brief stay.

Staff were excellent, they couldn't do enough to help you. Breakfast was also excellent choice was amazing. Great location for train station with plenty bars and restaurants around. At first, we thought the room was a bit basic, but we had a great night's sleep. Also, free coffee and juice in the reception area was an additional bonus.

DenmarkJust a small heads up... We had no problem with the size of the room, but don't expect to spend too much time in there except to sleep. But hey - why would you want to go to Madrid to sit in a hotel room??😉
Sleepn Atocha is located very centrally and within walking distance of most stuff. The staff is extremely friendly and go out of their way to make you happy. Very nice breakfast - no point in going elsewhere. Clean and fresh. Nice bed and bath/toilet facilities.

We only stayed one night, and chose this property for the location to the train station. One block off the busy street, which was nice because it was not as noisy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Wonderful complimentary tea, coffee, happy hour wine, and delicious homemade cookies for 1e. Room is small, but met our needs just fine. It was clean, bed was comfy, and the shower was warm. Somewhere I would definitely consider staying again.

The hotel staff was amazing! The entire facility was fun, from the decor to the staff to the rooftop area...we would stay there again. As we left the hotel to catch a train to Toledo, the location couldn't have been better. And the extras, like free coffee, beer and pastries!! It just made us feel happy and welcome. Beds were fine and breakfast very nice. B

CanadaThe room was small, but the issue was the bed. I would prefer a smaller bed to have a bit of space for our stuff.
1.Staff are professional, helpful and pleasant. 2. The freebies are always nice to have. 3. Location- very close to train station and within walking distance to historical places. 4. The recycling was highly appreciated! 5. The ad for this place is very accurate.
