Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomDifficult to find entrance in car. Did research streetview prior to arrival so knew where it was, and not to approach railway line side as others had done. Train noise didn't bother me, bed was comfortable and slept well. Some staff surly, others lovely. Check lift stops on your floor as it didn't stop at ours, we have no mobility problems so ok for us, but might be difficult for some
Location for ferry fantastic. Stunning building (but zero original features inside).

United KingdomThe hotel is right next to a railway station. Our room looked on to it and we could hear the trains coming and going. The rooms have poor lighting. The breakfast was ok but not great. I tried the scrambled egg and bacon but it was cold even though it appeared to be in a heated unit.
Lovely building. Very clean with large comfortable room. Secure parking in underground garage.

IrelandWe stayed at the hotel overnight because we were catching the ferry for Rosslare the next morning. We had driven for six hours to reach the hotel and we were tired and hungry. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed and there was no food or bar service available because a wedding was being held that day. Personally I have never heard of a four-star hotel that shuts down all their food and drink services to their guests just because of a wedding. Fortunately there were plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity. Prospective guests might want to check if the bar and restaurant will be open during their stay to avoid disappointment.
The hotel itself is pleasant and comfortable, everything was very clean and the staff were friendly. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room - not often found in Spanish hotels. But perhaps the best feature of this hotel is its proximity to the ferry terminal which is literally 10 minutes away !

United States of AmericaThe hotel was beautiful and our room had a glorious balcony overlooking the harbor, Getxo and the Vizcaya Bridge. I expected the area to be more industrial, but it really was a neighborhood (in addition to being industrial) and it was really fun to walk along the water and over to Getxo via the aerial bridge. We saw the beach, but didn't go. We wished we had had more time to relax and to explore. There was parking in the basement and it was only about 25 minutes to the airport. We weren't there for breakfast.

United KingdomOur view out of our two tiny, filthy dirty circular windows. Pigeon droppings and pigeon deterrent spikes. Service in the restaurant was extremely hurried, we were asked our choices within two minutes of being handed a menu.
Location, a 15 min walk to Portugalete, secure parking under the hotel. Good sized, clean and comfortable room. Very convenient stop off for the night if you are getting the ferry, the port is a ten minute drive. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Food in the restaurant very good indeed.
