Our room was on the 2nd floor and the view from the window was directly at the city wall so not much to see at all.

The hotel is nicely located right in the centre of St Malo and close to shopping, restaurants and bars. The room was adequate for a one night stay prior to catching the ferry to the UK. Breakfast is basic and we only had it as it was included in the price. Lots of nice coffee shops nearby which are a better option. Ferry terminal just two minutes away and public car parking was easy and very close to the hotel. The public parking operates different tariffs depending on the season. We were there in November so only 5 euros for overnight parking which was great value.

The wait in reception before someone came to attend to us - both on arriving and departure. Although they are happy for you to leave your luggage at your own risk in an area to the back of the cafe/reception room it is not secure and anyone could walk in off the street and see people's belongings there unattended, with no staff around. I do not recall there being a bell a the reception desk but even if there was no one seemed to be manning the desk at any point of our stay.

Room was small, but it was very well-designed to make maximum use of space.

Good location. Just within the city walls, but also a short walk to the main entrance through the walls, and to the buses going to St. Malo and the Caen train station. Good breakfast. Helpful tips from the hotel host. While we didn't have a direct view of nearby beaches, we could see the inner harbor and also see the ocean to the north. Some nice restaurants were nearby.

Lack of air conditioning made for a very hot room, also the window on the ground floor room was protected by a flexible sheet so no ventilation could be achieved

It was pretty warm in the room, and I didn’t see any a/c but maybe I missed it. The noise level was unbelievable, it was a Friday night so perhaps would be quieter in the week, but there was so much shouting and talking loudly until 4 in the morning. Needless to say not much sleep was had.

Very welcoming staff and great location to stay within the walls. Family room is always great so we can stay together.

Tiny lift for one person (no luggage space in lift) which was tricky when you had to get to the 4th floor. Toilet situated too close to radiator and loo roll holder. Could cause injury…especially if radiator hot.

The room could have been a bit bigger. access to the bathroom was somehow blocked by one of the beds.

The location, close to the remparts, the restaurants and the parking lot was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and did an excellent job giving advice on restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay at the Ibis. The location was convenient, particularly if you have a rental car parked just outside the city walls. It's in a cool old building, and the room was clean and comfortable. The shower was amazing, and the staff members were friendly. Breakfast was good. Would recommend!
