Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was fairly small, but great view of the courtyard.
Perfect location, just around the corner from the Promenade and a short stroll away from the Old Town and all the bars and restaurants. Spotlessly clean. Didn't have breakfast; plenty of places to enjoy café and croissants. Easy to get there by tram from the airport, a 10-15 minute walk away from Jean Médecin.

The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were too hard for me as I like feathers and the pillows provided were more like foam rubber, not a criticism, just a matter of preference. I don't know if the pillows could be swapped. There were only 2 hangers in the wardrobe but we took our own so not a problem, however, I'm sure more could be provided if requested. One thing to note, is that due to its great location, there is quite a bit of noise at the weekend with people returning home from the bars at all hours. This didn't bother me at all but may be an issue for light sleepers - especially with the window open.
The hotel is in a fantastic location - just a few steps from the many bars and restaurants of the Old Town and less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. The room was a reasonable size for two. We had two single beds and a make-up table with a chair. Kettle and tea/coffee and lots of power points, There was a TV and minibar which we didn't use so I can't comment on the channels or content. The rainfall shower was nice and warm and the bathroom had all the ameneties you would expect. We had a large window that opened up to the main street which provided a nice breeze if the air-con was off for the winter. Breakfast was nice with a good choice of hot and cold food, but the room is quite small so can get a bit tight for space during busy times. The staff are all super friendly and seem very happy to help with any questions or provide assistance.

Rooms were a bit dated - the bathroom was in need of some maintenance. Noise from the street at night and then recycling/clean early morning. Expected given location.

Shower over bathtub but only a slight inconvenience rather than a big deal. The hotel furniture is a little worn and out of date but the value for money and service makes up for any of these minor issues. What was unpleasant for us was the tabacco stink pervading the hall from the lift to the lobby - because of smokers directly outside the doors. Would definitely stay again.
Real hotel hospitality - professional staff, actual service, comfortable room. Was a very nice change from modern, generic accommodation. Hotel was excellent value for money.

The sofas in the bar are uncomfortable and difficult for older people to sit down and get up from, some normal tables and chairs would be very welcome!
We always come to stay at the Beau Rivage, so convenient, clean, lovely rooms, perfect location and lovely pebble beach!! We always recommend and it’s always good value for money!

The only thing was that the phone line emitted a quiet but audible high pitched sound, not noticeable whilst awake but enough to give my daughter an unsettled night’s sleep.
Great location, super clean, lovely people at reception. Our stay was only one night so we didn’t get to try any other facilities. Great recommendation to eat at le Safari nearby.

The bath door was danced by water as well as a stain on a carpet in the hall in my bedroom

Expensive bar (but great barman) Room had one small kitchen chair to sit on .. I asked for an armchair both in person at reception person and in an arrival questionnaire but received no response Superior room showing its age in places .. very much a 70,s feel to the design

Noise from the street can be heard during the night.
The hotel is in the heart of Nice. Everything is so close. You can hear the sea. The room was nice and clean. Staff are nice, helpful and friendly.
