To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

New ZealandThe laundry was not operating, and there were no extra blankets, so it was a little cool when we arrived. However, the air con was good and soon warmed things up. No housekeeping was provided over the three days, but we were told to contact the front desk if we needed anything (we didn't).
Simple, well organised and basic apartment with all we needed. Beds were comfortable. Good location near bistros and Metro.

BelgiumThe bath took a long time to fill. We visited at the weekend and according to the notice board renovation work was ongoing from Mondays to Fridays. One of the two lifts had paper lining inview of being used by the construction workers.
Great location and nicely fitted out room, comfortable bed and well equipped kitchenette. Efficient staff at reception and free coffee and tea available at reception lounge.

It was very handy to 2 metro stations. The room was spacious, with enough room for suitcases on the floor. The kitchen was easy to work in and well equipped. The beds were comfortable. There was an elevator to the room, and downstairs at reception there was a free -to-use expresso coffee machine. Within easy walking distance there were 2-3 small supermarkets that had a good selection of fresh and frozen foods.

United States of AmericaThe pull-out sofa beds were very creaky/noisy and not terribly comfortable. We did get some courtyard noise from other guests late at night, but I'm sure they also heard my children in the early morning. Despite its location on a seemingly busy street, we did not hear much street noise from our apartment.
The location is great -- very close to the Metro 5 & 8 lines and close to the Metro 1 & 9 lines; 2-minute walk to Franprix and close proximity to other grocery stores; and a small park/playground right across the street. Perfect for my family of four (two sons, ages 6 and 2). The free espresso machine in the lobby was much appreciated!

Everything was clean, and on time, and they let us have our suitcases in the hotel on the day of departure. The hostesses are so charming and helpful. The hall has a vending machine and sofas to stay. The kitchenette is handy and equipped. The views of the street are so nice and it is near three metro stations and a bus stop in a very welcoming and well-comunicated neighbourhood.

ItalyI think that place a couple of electric socket close to the bed could be useful for those who need to have the phone charging during the night. I had some of them, but far from my side of the the bed. Apart of this, everything was looking fine for me.
Very good for a business trip, you can have a small kitchen in your room and this is useful. Located close to the metro, it's very easy to reach the Le Marais area and other nice places. The staff is kind and the service very good. I perceive the feeling of a higher level hotel.

United KingdomMy friend arrived earlier than me who booked and paid, and she could not go in to the room until I arrive. They could have phoned / emailed me to confirm my companion. Also the link didn’t work in their pre-check in emails so I could not.
First receptionist we met was very friendly and welcoming. The others are okay. Bathroom was a bit basic but very clean, I liked amenities and plenty of hot water. Very handy location but quiet. I will go back definitely.
