Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainFabulous hotel and Mathieu is the ultimate host. Warm and funny and they have done an amazing job of renovating the building and creating lovely rooms, light and airy. We only stayed one night, but this is a perfect spot for two or three nights. The bedroom was a great size, with a comfortable bed, two armchairs and large wardrobe. A fridge and aircon. Good sized bathroom with a great shower with a rain shower. Lots of hot water. Nice fluffy towels too. Our room was overlooking a bar in the square, but never heard a thing at night a sit was so quiet. Parking is close by, just a couple of minutes walk and free. Lots of cafes, bars and restaurants close by too. And then there is the breakfast!!!! A virtual feast. We sat outside in the square under the tree and were served fresh OJ, freshly cut plates of fruit, a large selection of breads and pastries, cheeses, a choice of cooked eggs (but not poached) and great coffee. Thanks Mathieu, a wonderful way to end our trip through France. Like the full stop at the end of a sentence.

United KingdomNothing at all, but a note that we are country people and happier with lots of space around us. In the small pedestrianised town/ village in record breaking temperatures we found it restricted, ie, there is no garden to relax in, but tables and chairs which form the restaurant part on the square. This is not a criticism of the property and others will adore the busy atmosphere of the area.
It’s not about the property but those who run it and the service given which makes this place what it is. The caring and genuine warmth of their welcome throughout our two night stay went over and above what one would normally expect from a chambre d’ hôte. We are a couple in our late 70’s and used L’Hostalet as a two night stop over, hoping to do some cycling. We were concerned about the parking arrangements being a couple of minutes walk from the accommodation but this was not a problem. Mathieu was with us in a trice and transported our luggage whilst we rode our bikes which were then parked in a room at the property.Thank you. The copious breakfast has been commented upon and is indeed a super start to the day. All staff spoke English, should your French be lacking and from the chamber maid to the lady serving breakfast nothing was too much trouble. You will not be disappointed.

United KingdomEverything was good - room could be improved with a larger table / more seating to have a coffee, place your items etc .
Perfect boutique location in the centre of the historic town of Argeles-sur-Mer. Our hosts were very friendly and the cleaning service provided was exceptional, with the room made up each day of our stay. A perfect blend of a historic building and modern facilities. Our room overlooked the square where we could watch the summer festival etc. Cafe & breakfast was available on site and looked nice though we chose to eat out to maximise our experience of the local area.

We loved the location in the town - lovely street one side, fabulous square the other for breakfast in the morning and drinks in the afternoon. Argeles is located in a very interesting region with lots to do nearby. The town has some excellent restaurants. The entire team running L’Hostalet are so lovely and welcoming- Matthieu, Jonathan and Lindsey. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We shall be back.

United KingdomIf I was going to be really picky...and I apologise to the owners...because it was perfect...a couple of English speaking news channels on the TV would have been great...but I am being very, very picky here.
Without doubt one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in...the owners were fantastic, very helpful...no downside whatsoever

FranceReally enjoyed our stay in this lovey 'hostalet', which had been beautifully and tastefully restored. We were greeted by friendly and charming host who gave us the lowdown on restaurants and beaches in the area. The breakfast was amazing and we had it on the Patio, where we mingled with the market on Saturday, which was great fun. All in all it all contributed to us having a great 'mini-break and we wished we had stayed longer!!

We had a wonderful stay at L'Hostalet, the staff were very accomodating, friendly and professional. They have shutters on the windows giving an extremely quiet sleep. It is right in the centre of the village. We were travelling on bicycles and they let us put the bicycles in a ground floor room. It was so convenient. They speak perfect French and English and have a lovely coffee/tea shop. I highly recommend L'Hostalet. The beds were perfect. 11 out of 10!

United KingdomIn the bedroom we had there was a fireplace rather too close to the bed.
Mathieu was a charming host who collected our bags from the car by his custom-made bicycle. The parking was free but you need to be able to walk up a short hill to get to the hotel. We had a very comfortable, exceptionally clean bedroom with beautiful white bed linen and lovely fluffy towels. There was also a fridge, kettle, teapot and cups which was a very welcome bonus. The hotel is in a central position in the pretty town of Argèles-sur-Mer.
