BelgiumNothing special - the only downside would be the traffic passing by but this is merely during the day. At night (or evening) when the nearby shopping mall closes down - this is reduced to almost zero.
The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and tidy. Cleaning lady was very helpful. Nice and correct rooms / bathroom. Very nice breakfast buffet!

United KingdomPaper cups in room and breakfast room, no lift, not much breakfast left at 0830, tables not cleared (only 1 person for cheffing, clearing tables, replenishing and reception checkout!) Indifferent reception staff when we arrived who didn't seem to want to sell us a drink, put music or TV screen on at 2100. Definitely got the impression they didn't really want anyone in the lounge. Kept disappearing and had to be sought out by people wanting to check in from the back room, garden, etc. No call bell at reception. It was very different from last time, whereas there was a great welcome, music and ambience, and always someone attentive and multilingual. Stairs to floors 1&2 very difficult to negotiate bordering dangerous with bags. Handrail was loose in places. Definitely request a ground floor room disabled or not for this reason.

United KingdomThere were no bins in the room which is a standard object, and we stay in this hotel at least once a month. No bulbs in two of the lights so extremely dark, especially now with the new dark walls, it’s made it even more dark! No kettle or tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom still looks the same as before, still a bit worn out looking, and the drain in the shower unit is not very good. Think it needs pumping out as you’re showering in what feels like a pool by the time you get out.
Finally…it’s in the process of being refurbished…but this is only down to the upcoming olympics I believe…however…

United KingdomThe hygiene and staff were unhelpful. Found cockroaches in the bedroom, squashed bugs on the walls, spider webs everywhere, a lot of dust. Very old building which desperately needs renovating. We contacted staff about the cockroaches which they moved us to another room but we found more crawling around. The staffs response was that it’s nature and expected.
