Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Very convenient for travel. We booked while en route from Switzerland to Eurotunnel once we’d decided where to stop off. Car park watched by cameras and all night reception for late arrival and early start. Good basic hotel for one night.

The hotel is not very close to city center Colmar. We had a car so we didn’t care about that.
The hotel was great for New Year’s. We stayed in the hotel and went down for dinner. Super comfortable and the dinner was excellent. Best New Year’s we had in years.

The room looked a bit old, And there were a few noises, but nothing serious...
The staff was super friendly, at the end of our stay they gave us a jam as a gift, a really nice idea... We really appreciated it. The location is excellent for the markets, I don't know about transport, we had the car. Nothing to say about breakfast, very rich.

We specifically asked for the room with 2 single beds, and get the one with sofa bed which was really uncomfortable. For the money that we paid, we should be really able to sleep well in such a good hotel with 4 stars!
Holet is great, rooms are big and clan, breakfast good as well.

The fact that it was far from the city( because the price was big though). The fact that it was renovated only at the reception and the hallways but the rooms…they are so not worth the money! They look soo old!
We liked the entrance, the breakfast was also good& the fact that it has parking just in front.

The rooms are a bit old, has carpets (for those with allergies) and if you have sensitive ears you can hear the neighbours.
The staff were friendly and the location is quiet with a good parking. You need a car to get there but you have parking.

The room was not exactly the one booked, at least from what it looked like in the pictures. We got a room that was old-fashioned with an animalier carpeting and forniture that came from the 90ies. Besides this, it was still a comfortable stay.
Hotel is 9 minutes away from the city Center. Comfortable rooms , helpful staff even if we arrived very late in the night for the check in.

The rooms could do with an update. Lobby, bar and restaurants were nice.
Excellent location, free parking with shops etc across the road. Easy drive to Colmar central parking houses. Room was pleasant a little small with multiple suitcases. Was comfortable but very dated. Staff very pleasant used bar facilities. Will stay again because of easy access to everything.

The heat in the rooms can't be controlled by the guest, we had to go to reception two times to turn tup the heat.
The stay was great, spacious and confortable room, loved the breakfast!

Very minor negatives. The room furniture was slightly dated. We were mystified by the lack of an information folder or on the TV and did not realise until we were leaving that there was a QR code on the back of the key card holder which gave access to all the guest information. Or if you ask at the bar they will give you the menu and there are various fixed price options depending on how many courses you want. Music at dinner would have been nice.
Good location, plenty of parking, our quiet room had everything we needed and a comfortable bed. The foyer, bar and dining room are smart and contemporary, staff are friendly and there is a really excellent double sided breakfast buffet. Our evening meal was good too. We hope to stay again.

the facilities and room need renovation
