Great value, basic accommodation for the evening. Very friendly staff who would have helped if we needed anything. Bed was comfy, room was quiet. Some other guests were noisy but the double doors to the room really helped with this. What a good idea :)

No air conditioning - but a fan was supplied which helped with the unusual heat during our stay.

The suite was clean and tidy, quite basic but comfortable and the location was fabulous - only 1 block from the Hotel de Ville and tram lines.

Pretty old and many things are broken.. e.g. the hinges of the room door where broken.. the top 2 of 5 hinges.. you had to literally lift the door up from the ground to open it.. which was a pretty bad first impression.. the rest of the room was okay, but similarly is in dire need of renovation..

If you're looking for a very comfortable place, this is not it, bed lacked comfort and could be changed. Perfect for a short stay though, not more.

The location is amazing, right in the center of town. The staff was nice and the facilities too: towels, microwave etc

coffee machine only took your brand of coffee n espresso type cartridges AND. we smelled cigarette smoke on our floor coming from other guest rooms

The housekeeping service is the worst. I believe it is the hotel's policy to not change the bedsheet unless it is necessary. I spent 7 days in this hotel. I asked my bedsheet to be changed on my 5th day at the reception desk but when I got back to my room it was still unchanged. On my 6th day I asked the housekeeper herself to change the bedsheet but instead of her changing it she handed to me fresh linens, bedsheet and pillow sheets to change them myself. Really?? That lazy, huh?? So housekeeping was not satisfactory and certainly my room was not being cleaned for 7 days, no replacements or top ups of soaps or teas and coffee sachets when I was there. The bathroom is really small so if you are a large size the shower area is enough to fit 1 adult. If you are small or medium size it can fit 2 but very little space. The room does not have AC but a stand AC is available. The room did get hot sometimes despite visiting St Etienne in September.

This hotel is the perfect location at the heart of St Etienne town. It is just walking distance to shops, eateries, restaurants, markets, convenience store and easily accessible by public transportation (bus and tram stops were nearby). The room is a nice size with ample facilities as described. Breakfast buffet at EUR 9 is worth it considering (I di not bother to take it but I noticed the spread was value for money) The receptionist can speak English. There are ample cooking facilities as well as plates and cutleries if you wish to eat in the room so that is really good.

The position was very good, staff friendly, I had all the facilities in the room, even though the furniture was a little too old.

The bed was like a block of wood ~but amazingly still managed to sleep~shame really mattresses don't cost a fortune today

Please try to avoid to arrive in a city in rain. Specially if the city is a not so friendly place. And yes, if the description says, that there's hard to find a parking place - believe it, it's really hard to find a place for the car in St Etienne. We found one 800 m away (and felt ourselves lucky!), so it was pretty hard to organize the stuffs for a 6 member family in the constant rain... Residhotel is one more place which is hard to find - local people also can't navigate there. So, probably only we had a bad start there. But yes, the tea was great:)

The room-included tea filters and the electric water boiler saved our mental health.

Somebody tried entering my apartment twice during the night - I assume somebody misread the number on the door, and the lock held on. I was a bit spooked but went back to bed straight away.

Nice stay for the money. Right in the city centre (very comfortable for a short holiday stay), kitchenette had a kettle among other things and bonus coffee/tea. Comfortable beds (I had 2 singles together), window was facing the backyard. When people walk/talk in the hallway, or turn on the lights, you will hear and see the light coming from under the door, but good thing was there were actually 2 doors, so you can shield yourself from all the noise.
