Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

RomaniaThe experience at the Movenpick hotel was extraordinary. Firstly, I was impressed by the impeccable cleanliness and the pleasant scent that filled the entire place. The restaurant on the 20th floor was remarkable, offering a sensational breakfast, all deserving a perfect score of 10! However, we encountered an unpleasant situation: my girlfriend lost her ring. Initially, we thought it had been stolen and that someone had entered our room. The hotel manager, Abdullah, and the entire staff stood by us, dedicating two hours to check all the rooms and ensure that no one had entered. Later, together with the staff, we searched the room, even dismantling the bed, and eventually found the ring, which filled us with joy. I want to take this opportunity to thank Abdullah and the entire team for all their support!

NigeriaI didn’t like that the staff don’t offer to help unless you ask in most cases. I extended my stay for two extra days and I wasn’t told I would need a change of card after my initial booking ends. I got into the lift and my card refused to work. I had to go back to the reception to complain before I was told I needed a change of card due to the extension. I wasn’t happy because the staff at the reception saw me before going into the lift and said nothing to me. I got back with several bags of packages daily for 3 days, it was only on the third day that someone helped with my packages. They just watched as I carried all the packages by myself without offering to help.
It was neat, smelt good. The room was spacious and heating system worked well. The gym and swimming pool are good. Spa is beautiful and the staff are very courteous. The breakfast was beautifully set out and there was quite a variety of pastries, cheese, fruits and vegetables. Resolution of issues were also very prompt, thorough and to my satisfaction.
