Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The staff were all very friendly, helpful and all had a smile! Peaceful location considering you were in central London. All areas were very clean and in good condition.

It suited my needs perfectly
Location was perfect, staff excellent, good food and service. The hotel is clean, comfortable, no frills and just what I needed for this short stay. Excellent location for this working trip but also well situated for any London visit. Great transport links, right on the Thames and of course the Tower of London

A little disappointed with the room because they put us in a disabled room, therefore the toilet was lower and the wash basin was lower. There was no outlook from the window only brick walls. The air conditioning went off early hours of the morning and the room got hot very quickly, therefore waking us up every night.
We did not have breakfast as there many places nearby. The beds were comfortable and the room was cleaned daily. The location was perfect and walking distance from the tube and shops.

A very centrally situated hotel. a few minutes walk from the Tower of London. Lots of restaurants and shops around - great choice of restaurants (Borough Market, Leadenhall Market, Whitechapel, Brick Lane) and locations like the Tate Modern (free entry!), Shakespeare Globe Theater within easy reach. The hotel itself was very comfortable, with nice sized room and a comfortable bed. We had a room on the 5th floor (#550) with a window looking out the font of the hotel, onto Pepys Street.

We were very warmly welcomed at Apex City of London. The staff did an excellent job, the hotel itself was really lovely - nice big rooms, nice amenities, excellent breakfast, excellent location- only a short walk to Tower Bridge. The room was quiet at night and we had a very lovely breakfast. Would definitely visit again!

Awesome stay at the Apex London. Second time staying at an Apex Hotel and they did not disappoint. We were promptly upgraded to a junior suite and we had everything we needed. Location was excellent and the room and the beds were comfortable. We had a great time of rest between meetings. It's close to train and metro stations. Very close to the Thames river.

The furnishings are a bit old overall, but the hotel is unbeatable in terms of price.

The only negative for this hotel we found was the blind in the sky window did not work.

Nothing, it was was a lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff. The only thing I would say and it’s a very minor thing is we would have liked some more shower gel/shampoo left in the room. I’m sure if we had asked they would have provided more

We ate in the hotel restaurant - no welcome when we arrived and to be honest felt as if they didn’t really want us there, the food was good but the staff surly and unwelcoming. They arrived with the bill and card machine with amount already keyed in, no chance to check the bill - all felt like they wanted us out as soon as possible - a total contrast to the staff at breakfast the next day - don’t even think they realised we were staying at the hotel.
Reception staff very pleasant and helpful and upon check out they did apologise for not being able to sort rooms together. Really enjoyed breakfast and the staff again were pleasant, checking out was smooth and efficient.
