Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe coach house rooms are old and frankly a bit dated in decoration and cleanliness after many years of use. The main sitting area is overcrowded with chairs and sofas, spoiling the ambiance. Breakfast self service pretty basic But the menu offers good and reasonable value. Being presented with a loud, "this is what it will cost" at the reception desk when checking in (in front of my wife, on Valentines night) when I had clearly booked and knew the cost) was a pretty poor and unprofessional approach. Dinner bill also presented to my wife at 10 30 pm during the few moments when I had gone to the Gents, also pretty daft. She did sign for it and as it happened a few extra drinks had been put on the bill from another table, I noticed this when settling up in the morning - there was no argument and Hotel staff dealt with the matter quickly.
Lovely Georgian country house. The staff were friendly and in the main efficient and polite. They worked hard on a busy Valentine evening and we felt well looked after (But see below). Bed comfy and the restaurant food was very well presented and of a high quality. Drinks menu good and wine list reasonable and good overall.

United KingdomThe only small complaint we had was that the mini-fridge kept whirring overnight but everything else more than made up for that.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating to my partner and I. We stayed in the Victoria room, which was beautiful. The food for dinner was brilliant and the area is so peaceful and relaxing. We stayed as a birthday celebration for my partner and the staff made a "Happy Birthday" plate with sweet treats, which was a lovely surprise for him. We spent the morning walking around the grounds and the lake is beautiful, even in the rain and cold. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

United KingdomOne minor quibble would be the lack of any leisure facilities such as a gym. Also, my room (Tulip) was a bit on the noisy side and the bed mattress was a bit too soft for my liking. The hotel could do with a lick of paint and a bit of TLC in places.
We had an enjoyable 3-night stay at this property. Great food, lovely rural location and very pleasant helpful staff. Lenham is a cute village. Other pretty villages are not too far away by car. Leeds Castle is worth a visit.

(Soap lovely) A nice touch to have sweeties and flowers but being a hot day flowers dead and chocolate melted!! Compared with previous visit room didn't live up to expectations

I am blown away by the service we received! We attended the Chilston Park Hotel for my wedding stay and the staff couldn't do more for us. We were upgraded free complimentary which was so generous and then also offered late check out and breakfast was served to us later as we slept in due to a late night on our wedding night which again was a lovely gesture.
