Been staying at this hotel for almost 25 years and it never fails to impress. Great location and within easy reach of local attractions. Staff are always helpful and friendly and the breakfast is among the best anywhere !!!!

We love it here sadly on this occasion we did find some amount of uncleanliness in room including receipts from March which we haven’t experienced before so hope this is a one off

Was very hot in the room (CLUB ROOM) could not open the window as there was no lever on there to open it there was a fan but was very wobbly and not the best could not higher or lower it as I tried so I had 2 unsettled nights due to how muggy it was also The safe was locked I did tell someone on reception and was told housekeeping would come and sort it for me but no one came

These are not real gripes and didn't spoil our stay at all but just a couple of things... We upgraded our room and this included a fridge with 'snacks' ..2 bottles of water and 1 Mars bar, between us! We didn't eat it.... The room could do with a little tlc, just looked a little tired with chipped paint, wood and radiator. Also would have preferred a walk in shower rather than bath.

The hotel was in a very good location, particularly as the purpose of our visit was to go to the living museum. It was nice to walk to the nearby bar and the huge shopping centre. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We had a lovely welcome from the receptionist on arrival and my husband received a birthday card and a voucher for a free drink in the hotel. We upgraded our room which cost £50, as this included breakfast for both days it was worth it. We also enjoyed the swimming pool and jacuzzi and found that the pool and changing area was very clean.

The hotel is getting tired, the stairs up to the room had a gash in the wall paper. The varnish stain on the wood in the room was fading and the wallpaper was peeling in the room around the window frame. It had sagged in the corner of the room too. I can only assume it's heading towards a refit soon as although the rooms are perfectly fine for a stay, the finer details are obviously not what they once were when new. Be mindful if you stay on a weekend and need somewhere quiet, there's two bars, pub and a nightclub over the canal from you, our room faced them and although we had the windows shut could hear the revellers enjoying their Saturday night out.

We had a very warm welcome, the bar was good, the staff were all brilliant including a housekeeper who happened to pass me in the hallway checking on me and asking if the room was to standard! The food was good, the breakfast very good with lots of variety. The gym and pool attached to the hotel absolutely did the job for us. Just about enough gear in the gym to get a good workout in and the pool is a decent size. The lobby is very smart too. Vending machines for all requirements, not just food , got myself a charger there! It's literally over the road from merry hill shopping center too. The canal is great for a wonder. The location is pretty good.

Leisure facilities could very easily become crowded - nice pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, but definitely not large!! Breakfast, although tasty and good choice, felt a tad chaotic and probably needed higher staffing than provided.

Spacious room, comfy (firm) bed. Fluffy towels, nice warm shower. Plenty of free parking. Two keycards for room. Good security features. Very helpful staff. Room very close to lift (not much walking required, thank you for accommodating our request!) - but we didn't hear the lift at all. Very quiet and restful.
