Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Noone checked my identity. Fix shower so you need to wash your hair even if you don't want to (no shower cap provided). Windows absolutely need to be changed, old and dirty frames. Curtains and carpets as well look pretty worn out.
Strategic location. Very quiet surrounding. No noise. Very clean with something to be improved

The only very minor downside was the handheld shower could do with replacing and the curtains in bedroom wouldn't shut - think previous occupant has maybe tried to force it and has come off track. But this didn't effect the overall experience and we would definitely stay here again.
Excellent location, friendly and professional staff, lovely room and secure bag storage. My daughter was treating me on a trip to London with a show, meal etc and we both thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

The location of this hotel is its selling point, and the staff are so lovely and helpful. We’ve stayed here twice now and it’s a hidden gem. Don’t expect it to be 5 star quality but if you want a clean well presented hotel then this for you. There’s not breakfast but that doesn’t matter as you’re a stones throw from Covent Garden, so getting food is easy. We’ve booked to stay again, and think this will be our go to hotel for London from now on.

There were a couple of lightbulbs which didn’t work in our room and the lights were missing some of the decorations but minor issues which didn't detract from our experience

Our room (top floor) was small but it was cosy and it’s the nature of the old building that some of the rooms are probably smaller than others.
Location was great. Hotel was friendly, welcoming and clean.

The only real issue is that there is no lift and the stairs are steep.
Fantastic location - really central but also quiet because it's in a pedestrian courtyard. The room was small but pleasant. It's not a full service hotel (no breakfast, no bar) but given you're staying in an area full of bars, cafés and restaurants there are lots of great options nearby.

Minor things. No ice machine. No soap dish in shower No kleenex in room. Awful selection of t.v. channel choices. I know it's London but for the price some of these little things would make it nicer.

Hotel is on a pedestrian-only street so we couldn't drop off our luggage.
Stayed here because it is very close to the Royal Opera House. Rooms were fine and the staff were welcoming.

I was not sure how to lock the key from inside but seemed okay.
Perfect location for major touristic sites. Reception was kind and polite, and my room was great atmosphere! It was really cute. I was worried about bed bugs in London, which was absolutely unnecessary thought here.

The age of the building means there in inevitably some issues with creaky or rattly doors/windows/plumbing, which are pretty unavoidable. On one of the days housekeeping forgot to replenish our refreshments.
Outstanding location. Superb reception staff. Beautiful building with charm and character. Good value for money.

No complaints at all.
Everything was good. Remarkably quiet despite very central location. Good room and spacious bathroom. Twenty-four hour reception desk. Friendly and helpful. No need to offer breakfast in the hotel because Covent Garden is just outside.
