Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe spa area was limited and old, could do with updating, but it was still all working and comfortable for our short visit, but not really befitting of a 5* hotel
Charming hotel, loved the room, very comfortable and spacious with great views to the rear of the hotel. The breakfast room is so grand and charming too, the choice of breakfast was first class as was the service

United KingdomThe only 5 star hotel on the south coast of England provided exceptional old school charm & service & food. We ate at the Mirabelle restaurant & had the tasting menu & wine flight. Outstanding new chef Alex Burtenshaw created such an amazing dinner- highlights were the salt marsh lamb & the poached monkfish. Sommelier Ronnie Tayao matched all the courses perfectly with his stunning wine flight.

United KingdomUnfortunately the bed had probably the softest mattress I have ever slept, or not being the case, I have ever encountered. We had about two/three hours sleep and as I suffer with my back this left us with no alternative to cut short our stay. We did think of trying to change rooms but the damage had been done.
An old style hotel with lots of charm. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Facilities were very good.

United KingdomBed was not comfortable at all. Too warm inside the room/building overall.
Staff is extremely professional. Very kind and attentive people. Complimentary Nespresso coffees and biscuits in the room. We stayed during Easter and they gave us also complimentary chocolate eggs. My son loved them. The outside, warm pool is definitely a plus.

United KingdomJust 1 thing when at about 11pm ish empty bottles were emptied into bin smashing. Understand that this has to be done but woke me up. This is not a complaint though.
Everything was brilliant. Absolutely faultless. Staff were always smiling and just didn't stop. That goes for every member of staff.

United KingdomSee above, but nothing drastic!
A vast, palatial, 150-year-old, 5-star seafront hotel in the grandest style, with room prices not too crippling out of season. Majestic public rooms, and a lovely sea view from our fourth-floor 'executive' bedroom. Room itself was spacious and well-appointed, with a large comfy double bed, but the compact ensuite bathroom looked a little tired and in need of refurbishment, while the basic towelling slippers provided were too small for both my wife and me but were the only size the hotel stocked = need to review this! Dinner in the vast yet appealing Garden Restaurant was enjoyable,, and the crisp white nappery, fine bone china (Royal Crown Derby) and gleaming Sheffield EPNS cutlery (Arthur Price) all added to the occasion. Breakfast, in the same restaurant, was very good. Staff throughout the hotel were very smartly turned out and invariably attentive. Luckily, with the help of a concierge, we just managed on arrival at 3pm to find a free space in the hotel's 65-vehicle front-of-house car-park!

United KingdomThere was nothing I didn’t like
The hotel is lovely and spacious. Everything was very clean and huge - even the guest bathrooms!! Special mention to concierge Jim and Matthew who were delightful, Chris Spa Manager, Etienne in the bar. Also other staff whose names I didn’t catch who were extremely helpful were the two ladies at Reception (Friday afternoon and Saturday morning), the two ladies who gave us the most amazing 40 minute facials on Saturday lunchtime, the Restaurant Manager and Sommelier who made sure everything was good for us food and drink wise on Friday evening . The spa area was lovely, swimming pool with steam room (no sauna) was of good size. Room was amazing (we had a sea view executive room).
