Room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned every day. It wasn’t horrendous, but I did notice areas that were missed.

The room was squeaky clean and the towels / bed linen of an excellent standard. The room temperature was easily controlled and comfortable. Public areas were well maintained, and the hotel was quiet. The breakfast was generous and had plenty of variety. I particularly appreciated the fruits, nuts and seeds offered. The proximity of the hotel to the station and city centre was helpful, and being based in a less crowded area pleasant.

The room was colder than we would have liked. Turning up the room thermostat didn't seem to make any difference. The food available in the evening was very limited and no better than pub grub.

The location was excellent for guests arriving by public transport.

The reception of the TV was very poor. No local ales or lagers available either on pump or bottle at the bar. Very limited choice for an evening meal. Unable to open the window for fresh air.

We were very pleased with the quality of the accommodation, fluffy towels, very clean room and comfortable beds. Air conditioning was good, plenty of tea and coffee available. Quiet.

- No parking on site, the nearest NCP very small - Unprofessional staff, no welcome, no information - Bed uncomfortable - Gym shut (one reason for choosing this hotel)

unwelcoming, unfriendly, rude receptionist.

Great stay, hotel fabulous. Reception staff not very friendly at all, we felt judged from the moment we walked in the door. We were a group of 7 girls celebrating a hen party (not drunk, no tat, respectful group about to start a wonderful weekend) An unfriendly receptionist (not the 2 younger ones) was rather rude and unwelcoming. The younger receptionist with pink hair was helpful and as you would expect a front of house member of staff to be. Whilst the older more miserable one walked away commenting “I need a drink already”

The view from the room could have been better than the semi derelict property opposite. Having said that we were really only in the room to sleep.

Happy with the complimentary hot breakfast. There was also a small 'continental' selection. Good value for money

Room was booked for three adults, but facilities only prepared for two adults. Pull out bed not made up, two cups, two glasses etc. Mistake soon rectified by staff however.

Location perfect for arrival by train. Breakfast offered is excellent.

Hard bed which lost sleep. Tired the following day. The tv channels up to 3 worked fine. Above this there was poor signal / interference.

Nice , helpful, friendly staff. Hotel is in a good location. Only about a 5 min walk into York city centre. Clean room with modern facilities. Good choice of breakfast of either cooked or continental.
