Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Doors and door frames in need of painting, looks shabby and unfinished.

I expected the room to look like the photo with red satincthrows on the bed but was just plain white linen...a small thing but a splash of colour and luxury for the money would have been appreciated and was expected.

Bright security light outside front door and window was a bit intrusive. Walls between rooms are quite thin. Cant just turn up for breakfast next door, you must book.
Location convenient for my industrial estate visit next day. Good hot water pressure.

The shower was difficult to get a set to a constant temperature. Pillows not very comfortable.
Lovely friendly staff, reception provided iron and ironing board when requested. Good room size, didn't feel cramped even with 2 king-size beds. Good value for money and appreciated the late checkout (12 o'clock) after a late night at a wedding! Good location.

The ease of being able to leave car earlier in morning catching train which is short walk away to Cardiff for our annual rugby trip and the fact that the owner is alway helpful and accomodating .

A few little tweaks and updates would make it perfect, such as a hairdryer, a lick of paint and general cosmetic work. Beds were comfy but bed base was a little untidy(material frayed) but that could be resolved with a valance sheet and didnt affect the use. Otherwise the room is perfect!
Staff were friendly, room was clean and little touches like tea and coffee laid out was lovely, bathroom amenities were beautifully displayed too! Basic room but lots of storage which was handy for us. Bathroom worked wonderfully and was a decent size, nice to have a bath. The room was quite spacious for 3 adults and beds were huge!

The look of the outside of the hotel was disappointing. Everything being white gave a cold welcome rather than a warm welcome and with no flowers in the grounds there was no colour.
The staff were very nice, polite and gave a nice welcome both in reception and the bar. The cleaner in the morning was also friendly

We noticed an inch wide hole under room door which led to outside and only vertical blinds as opposed to curtains to block out the morning sunlight and they didn't do a very good job of it.
We got upgrade to a family room which was enormous with two extra large bigger than kingsized beds. Staff couldn't be more helpful and brought ironing board and hair drier as soon as we asked for them. Nice mood lighting, massive very comfortable beds and everything was immaculately clean and cleaners serviced the room while we were there for 2 nights.

booking.com messed up my booking, I’d booked 3 rooms but only 2 were available. which meant 4 adults had to share one room which was a bit cosy.

The accommodation is a bit tired, with several signs of general wear but it was clean and no major issues found. The electric shower was OK although not a power shower which is a shame.
Above my expectations for a 2 star rated room. The beds were large and really comfy, the room was clearly cleaned really well and the staff we saw were really friendly and welcoming

Couldn't understand how to order breakfast from the bar next door?? So missed out on our custom there.
Easy to book online, easy to check in and out, room had Wifi, free parking, kettle with a few coffee/tea sachets, and bottled water. Found extra pillows in the drawers!
