Located a couple of miles from city centre but bus was just down on the corner and a cheap fare into town. Didn't eat at their restaurant as prices seemed on the high side

Spacious grounds and building in a quiet area. Lift access . Room large with good ensuite Breakfast extensive varieties offered. Staff friendly and welcoming. .plenty of room for parking. Facilities were all we could ask. Bed and pillows comfortable

Breakfast a little overpriced but adequate.

The hotel presents itself well and is maintained to a good standard. Intelligent decor throughout highlighting Oxford past and present is appreciated. The polite staff ensure a smooth stay.

Beds where made of of 2 singles zipped together which makes for an uncomfortable join in the middle of the bed and sleepless night.

It was clean, well looked after. Bedroom was as expected. The hotel had a nice bar area to chill in but we didn’t try the restaurant food. I like the location not too far from a nice river walk.

The only thing we had a little gripe about was the tap in the bathroom (room 101). My wife has arthritis in her hands and found the tap rather stiff, especially as that is a disability room. We did mention it to reception. But that was our only niggle.

Everything was superb. The reception staff were exceptional, as were those in the dining room, and the breakfast room. A special mention for Tenzi here. All in all, nothing but praise for every one and every thing. Thank you for two wonderful days.

The breakfasts was of good quality and choice but were a little expensive, that was the only thing though, everything else was great

We loved the location, ideal for travelling into the city centre and lovely and quiet at the hotel. The room wa lovely and looked out to the garden and the bed was very comfortable. We'd definitely stay there again.

We would get a room on the other side of the hallway next time as we got woken by deliveries into the carpark. Otherwise it was beautifully quiet. The bath/shower was very slippery. There was no slip mat so we put a towel down in the bottom of the bath when showering. Great heated towel rail but wished there were face-cloths. Absence of face cloths seems to be a common theme in all the hotels we have used in the UK.

Comfy and ambient bar/restaurant with large windows overlooking lawns and trees. We met up with family we hadnt seen for 7 years and spent 9 hours relaxing and eating there. We didnt even bother going out. Very welcoming front desk person and a server with a great sense of humour (older lady)who added some joy to our day and at also breakfast. Loved the attention to detail with the Oxford brogue interior design theme.

    nothing, everything was very good!

It is my 2nd time at the hotel, and my first stay. What can I say - I believe it may be Oxford's best hotel for a short stay alone or as a couple. The location is nice, about 10 min drive from the city centre, and at the same time - very quiet, which was good for us. The lobby is fantastic, spacious, of character, and allowed us to sit by the fire place enjoying our drinks. The room is exquisitely decorated, very fashionable too. The old style phone, the chair. Liked the mirror most, and the bed was very comfy too. Very pleased with the overall experience, and will definitely come again should we need a good night stay in Oxford!

Really comfortable beds. Good location, for a walk through the village and along the river and for getting the bus to the centre. Plenty of free parking which we were encouraged to make use of outside of our checked in hours.

Breakfast too expensive. I requested a fried egg rolls but it would have cost £23.

Quiet peaceful atmosphere with staff available. I have a friend who lives in a nearby nursing home and this is an ideal base fir visiting her.
