We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomI have mobility problems and the lift was out of order on the second day we stayed… ok for my room on the ground floor but very difficult to access the restaurant and bar on the second floor. We attended a wedding and it was a great occasion, well managed but the function room was so cold that I had to get my coat and was tempted to change into jeans and socks and boots.

The hotel was very good value for money. Staff were very friendly helpful and welcoming and the room was good and clean. There was a mistake on the restaurant ordering of one meal but the staff dealt with it very professionally apologising and putting it right.

United KingdomShame jacuzzi cold and on a timer which meant you sometimes had to wait a bit for the bubbles to appear. Would have like to see better quality tea/coffee/milk options particularly more environmentally aware packaging. Handles on the windows are the same as supplied with my summerhouse, and are falling apart so difficult to open and close windows. Window panes had a lot of water on them. Would have been a big bonus to be able to go into the original building, as I like old buildings, but guess that’s kept for weddings.
The 20m indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room. Good car parking (and free!). The house is in a nice setting. Away from main road but close to motorway connections, McD, supermarket. Room nicely decorated, good size double bed. There was a full-size bath….great for a relaxing soak to get rid of muscle pain - showers can’t do that. Didn’t have any meals so can’t comment on the food. Would definitely go back.

United KingdomI booked through booking.com so it was rather pricey as I had booked for two people but had to cancel one bed and wasn’t offered any discount. I didn’t know either that as I was attending the East Pennines Convention hall I could have had discount. I’ll book direct next time. Pillows could do with an upgrade.
Breakfast wasn’t included. Lovely clean room, beds and bathroom. All round very good hotel. Plenty of tea and coffee etc. Wish I had time to go to the pool.

United KingdomCan't say that we didn't enjoy ourselves, but the pool and jacuzzi was far too cold for us, we had to get out, which was a shame.
The staff were all lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was very good, a really good selection of different things, the cooked breakfast was spot on.

United KingdomInitial reception wasn't the best from receptionist. ( an Irish speaking young woman) who needs customer service training. The disabled parking at front of hotel could be better signposted on entry to avoid parking in leisure facility and then my mum had to struggle to walk to hotel reception area. Where we saw disabled parking. I was told I had not paid when I had,( thankfully her colleague helped) and i had proof of this. Then told we were in a room on 2nd floor when I'd specifically booked a disability friendly ground floor room with wet room. I had emailed before with my requests. I was told they'd responded and then that I hadnt confirmed ! However i had email proof of the accommodation requested and agreement! No apology for this error.Not a great start. However this improved with rest of staff. One lady Diane was helpful.

United KingdomNothing to dislike. Everything was as described. Maybe evening meal could be slightly cheaper and less 'posh', though that's probably a personal thing as we're not used to 4 star luxury !
Lovely big rooms, comfortable beds, excellent shower and fabulous breakfast. We were watching rabbits in the grounds whilst eating breakfast. We couldn't fault any part of the hotel or its facilities. We didn't use any of the spa facilities so cannot comment on them. However, daughter loved the swimming pool, sauna and spa.
