Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The only gripe was the really loud noise from the lift machinery which kept me awake. Its really intrusive and I'd strongly suggest better soundproofing.
The hotel is well positioned and laid out. The reception area is large and check in was fast and efficient. I was running three days of business demonstrations and the staff managing the function were well organised and helpful.

Room service was a bit spotty. Sometimes tea bags and milk not replaced. One time new towels put in and an old towel left behind. Not really important.
The breakfast was excellent, also the location in the centre of town. The room and bed were good. Facilities for convention attended well provided.

On booking.com I booked a twin room but there were no twin rooms left when I got there. This created a problem but the staff did their best to quickly sort things out. They offered a put up bed which was actually one of the comfiest beds I've slept on lately.
The hotel is perfectly located for exploring Cardiff or attending the rugby. The room had a wonderful view over the castle. The staff did everything they could to ensure our stay was excellent.

The bed was quite small (smaller than our bed at home) and the bathroom could do with a new shower. For the price we paid we expected a better room.
The location was great and staff were lovely.

My grandson's bed was a settee with sheets that he found uncomfortable on the 1st night & i found uncomfortable for the rest of the stay as i had to swap with him, also in 2024 for a family room there was a lack of sockets for modern technology and did struggle to keep all things charged , i have to add that is a small complaints though as overall it was genuinely a nice stay

The restaurant lacked atmosphere in the evening but the food was very good.
Excellent breakfast, great choice. Staff friendly and very helpful. TV in room stopped working but was dealt with immediately. Comfortable and attractive public areas to sit. Good views from our rooms, Principality Stadium and river from 1 room, castle from the second room. Overall good location and would stay there again.

I was particularly impressed that we were able to split the payments for each room, so everyone could pay their share directly (as I was expecting one person to have to pay the full amount for each room). This made things a lot simpler for us. I was very impressed by the comfortableness of the beds and ended up getting a much better night's rest than I anticipated I might. The location is superb for all the city centre amenities, and all staff were professional and friendly throughout our stay.

A long hair left in the bath (wrapped around the bath rail).

The room was very large and clean. The TV had Netflix and Youtube, something that I liked very much and I do not see very often in hotels. The breakfast had options and was very tasty. The location was next to the Park and very near to the city center.

The bathroom was very small and not well laid out. The toilet was far too close to the bath., making it difficult to get in out of the bath/ shower.. Also there was no bedside lights for reading in bed only one central light when two People were sharing a double bed.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean.
