Suite was tired 4 poster bed was broken and missing the top half of the bed. Wallpaper peeling, a leek sometime in the past near the window. Cracked sink and tiles in the bathroom and shower had mould spores along the outer edge. Get these few problems sorted and the suite would be superb.

The building was very grand and the location was perfect.

Needs a good refreshing - poorly maintained - looks run down in places. Nowhere to work in room 6. Noisy toilet, using too much water. Breakfast was very poor first two days then radically improved the next two days - when female server returned. Male member of staff did not rectify lack of coffee, croissants, fruit... Could still be much improved.

Impressive historic building in a great spot for walking and visiting Macclesfield, Manchester and Peak District.

Room was adequate but bed very uncomfortable, needs a new mattress or at least a thick mattress topper. Evening meal disappointing, bland soup, potatoes with chicken were burnt. Staff underwhelming not very productive nor very friendly considering we were the only guests bar 2 or three others. Very underwhelming breakfast, buffet was bare, had to ask for everything nothing was offered nor suggested that for example fruit existed. Luke warm coffee in a thermos, no other coffees on offer. During our meeting lunch was poor. No fruit no little biscuits no nice touches. No one at the hotel seemed that bothered we were there.

It’s in a pretty location. Lovely looking entrance which promises a nice stay but it was not

Marks over the walls made it feel a bit dirtier or worn than it actually was. (I did stay in one of the cheaper rooms)

Comfortable beds, great water pressure that made for a good shower and nice location.

Beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. No lock on bathroom door and where it had been there was a hole. No hand soap. Shower was poor.

The room was big and we were able to bring our dog. Plenty of parking. The communal areas were nice. We did not make use of the dining room so cannot comment on this, but it looked nice. Staff we did meet were pleasant

Downstairs was more attractive corridors were a bit worn with tired carpets . Windows we’re mouldy with damp and snow latches we’re broken reported to reception staff who said they would attend ton

The room was smaller than expected and we booked a superior room . Breakfast was quite nice although fresh orange juice would be nice , teapot and cups saucers not mugs Bathroom was really nice could have been bigger and maybe a handrail for shower in bath . Evening meal was again nice but to have vegetables at extra cost not really good .

The dog friendly rooms are not maintained to the same standard as the rest of the hotel. Breakfast is £14.95 per person but there wasn't limited items. Kitchen slow to replenish self service containers as the food is eaten, we had to keep asking and waiting for food items.

Beautiful entrance, dining room, bar and suites. The location for walks is perfects. Local pub up the road for food and drinks.

It's a tired place and needs love and care. The corridors are cold and smell of damp. My room had dust in areas which hadn't been touched and the carpet was stained and old. I had booked for the early deal for my tea supposedly £9.50 for pizza or pasta and a glass of wine. I was left waiting for half an hour with the wine and I was the only person so they weren't run off their feet. Gave up and was charged over £6 for the wine. You get the impression that nobody cares about the place or the people in it. The dogs seem to have free rein at breakfast sitting up on chairs and drooling over the food. They weren't in the main restaurant but it's enough to put you off even seeing them in the bar area. There was a wedding whilst I was there, why they can't tell you prior to your stay that these things are happening I felt very in the way and awkward. I would go back to Bollington but not here. I've had nicer stays in a Travelodge.

The location is perfect so close to amenities and nice walks. I didn't use the car for my entire stay. I also liked the smart TV in my room.

The staff weren't very attentive and came across rude at times. I waited a long time to get served a drink at the bar. The food at the casa restaurant wasn't very nice, both myself and my partner had the steak and it was tasteless and tasted like charcoal.

The location was good. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the decor was lovely

The view out of our room wasn't great, the room was also next to the exit door so did cause our dog to bark abit as the door closing/opening was loud. I also actually slipped over down some steps on the grounds of the hotel, i notified reception that they will needs gritting as i didn't want anyone else to fall over as I did injure myself falling.

Great location, great food very good value for money, room was clean and tidy and the staff was friendly. I would definitely stay again.
