Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The staff here were amazing, they were lovely and went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Genuine and caring helping with taxis, directions and advice. Even when I wasn’t feeling well they were super-staff. I’d definitely nominate this team for an award 🥇 🙌🏻🙌🏻 so any recognition of this would be great.

There was some strip lighting around the room which I couldn't seem to turn off. Some of the lights didn't work properly & were flashing on and off.
Basic but comfortable & good free wifi. Reasonable continental breakfast.

1. No toilet brush and water presher enough only for one flush 2. No privacy in toilet - my hubby could hear everything that happened in the toilet 3. 9.30 am cleaner wanted to start cleaning, good that our dog start barking, otherwise she would see me without clothes.

The toilet was quite low and not having the shower as part of the bathroom was 'strange'.

A little too basic for me, I would have liked to have been able to make tea/coffee but the room is just a basic room with double bed, shower closet with basin in the room and then a separate little room for the toilet. For what you pay it is what you expect. Heating was broken during our stay so it was a bit chilly the first night, there was a sign but I did not see this until the next day at which point I asked for a fan heater which was provided and the second night was better. First night we arrived the car park was jammed full (local football match) so parking was a bit tight but the next night it was fine.
Rooms are basic as you would expect, a little bit too basic for my liking but it did include a light breakfast which was ok each morning. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

There is a bit of a walk or taxi ride to Newport town centre and train station.
There was hot drink making facilities in the room with tea and coffee available, unlike no hot drink making facilities in ibis budget Cardiff. It is also close to the M4 if travelling by car.

The toilet cubical is in a narrow, confined space. Lower than the average toilet. There was no outside area for seating.
The hotel's location is great. It's situated next to the M4 with adequate parking. Staff were absolutely fantastic, friendly and helpful.

Slow lift. Parking. Car park says cars only but lots of vans parked there. Although can park away from front of hotel has ample room, it’s awkward to carry case, laptop etc Not allowing vans to park in the main car park would help

The toilet is very congested and the soap solution bottles are empty. The room lock was having some issues and moved to a different room on the second day and the facilities were not good enough for the money paid.
Staff members are professional and helpful.

Friendly helpful staff. I stay regularly as I know I will have a good stay. It may be described as basic but it's always been clean and comfortable at a reasonable price if I book in advance.

Obviously some guests try to ignore non smoking policy but this is a minority.
The staff are so friendly and helpful. I return regularly as I know that I get a friendly welcome and a clean, comfortable stay. It is a very good location for my needs.

not sure about having the shower in the bedroom instead of having an en suite

The location was noisy in the evening and I to the night. I think there was police presence there. The toilet and shower are just cubicles - too small.

Like staying in student accommodation, however for the price you could not expect anymore.
